Pella to close North Carolina window and door plant.

Pella to close North Carolina window and door plant. Pella Corp. intends to close its window and door manufacturing facility in Reidsville, North Carolina, eliminating 133 jobs. According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed with the North Carolina Department of Commerce on October 15, the closure is permanent and is scheduled to take effect Jan. 31, 2027. The 150,000-square-foot facility, located at 310 Rockingham Drive, opened in 2019 following an investment of approximately $20 million. Business North Carolina reports that some employees could begin losing their jobs on December 3, although affected workers will receive at least eight additional weeks of pay. Pella attributes the closure to a review of its manufacturing capacity and expected market demand. Company officials explain that Pella's existing manufacturing network has more capacity than necessary. "This decision follows a review of manufacturing capacity and expected market demand across Pella's network," the company wrote in a statement to USGlass magazine's sister publication, [DWM]. "The review showed that we have more manufacturing capacity than needed and that growth is expected to be stronger in other parts of the country." Discharged Pella workers will receive support, including severance, benefits information and available resources. Topics: Interior Was this helpful to you?
