About the job

Requirements
  • Strong, recent experience building and shipping production software as a hands-on engineer.
  • Deep proficiency in .NET/C# and TypeScript/Node, with strong experience in React and modern web development.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, SQL, asynchronous programming, automated testing, and production debugging and observability.
  • Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions that balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
  • Experience serving as the senior technical engineer or technical lead on a team, influencing technical direction without relying on formal management authority.
  • Ability to take an ambiguous or moderately scoped problem, develop the technical approach, make sound tradeoffs, and drive it through implementation and delivery.
  • A strong ownership mindset, with care for the quality, reliability, maintainability, and long-term health of what the team ships.
  • Judgment to know when to make decisions independently and when to bring in broader architectural or organizational expertise.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
  • Experience using AI in day-to-day engineering work, including coding, debugging, research, code analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve engineering workflows, increase team leverage, and raise quality—not simply to write code faster.
  • Curiosity about emerging AI capabilities and willingness to experiment, learn, and turn useful practices into repeatable team workflows.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical capability and confidence of those around you.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly with Engineering, Product, QA, and other partners.
  • Continuous-improvement mindset and willingness to challenge existing practices when there is a better way to build, test, operate, or deliver software.
  • Collaborative approach to technical leadership, driving decisions while seeking input and bringing others along.
Responsibilities
  • Own the team's technical outcomes by setting a high bar for code quality, reliability, maintainability, security, and technical execution, and ensuring the team follows through on what it ships.
  • Lead technical direction and design within the team's domain by translating product and business problems into pragmatic technical solutions, shaping approaches for small-to-moderately scoped features, and driving them through implementation; partner with Staff Engineers and architects when decisions have broader cross-team or cross-product implications.
  • Mentor engineers across experience levels, provide actionable technical feedback, identify growth opportunities, and help engineers develop the judgment and skills to solve increasingly complex problems independently.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude Code and other emerging tools in daily development, identify opportunities to automate repetitive or high-friction engineering work, experiment with approaches, measure effectiveness, and establish successful repeatable workflows that increase team leverage, improve quality, and accelerate delivery.
  • Identify technical debt, architectural risks, performance concerns, and reliability issues, and work with the team to address them while staying focused on product outcomes.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems using debugging, observability, and system-level knowledge to find root causes and improve systems and practices to prevent recurrence.
  • Build quality into the development process through appropriate automated testing, code review, observability, and continuous feedback.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with .NET Core.
  • Experience with NestJS and Kafka.
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with CRM platforms.

Bloomerang partners with Dataro to bring predictive donor intelligence to 24,000 nonprofits

Bloomerang hosted GiveCon 2026 in St. Louis, drawing nearly 700 nonprofit leaders for three days focused on AI-powered fundraising and donor engagement. The conference featured over 60 sessions covering recurring giving, major gifts and fundraising strategy. The event's main announcement was a strategic partnership with Dataro, integrating predictive donor intelligence into Bloomerang's Giving Platform. Dataro's models identify donors at risk of lapsing, those ready to give again and upgrade opportunities, working alongside Penny, Bloomerang's AI fundraising assistant. The conference also hosted the second annual Givie Awards, recognising excellence in fundraising and campaign innovation. Winners included Well Aware, Nourish Meals on Wheels, Eye Thrive and fundraiser Meredith Harrison. GiveCon 2027 will take place in Atlanta. Bloomerang serves over 24,000 nonprofits with its unified fundraising and CRM platform.

Bloomerang partners with Dataro to add AI-powered predictive donor intelligence to platform

The integration, announced at GiveCon 2026, will be available from July 2026. The partnership adds predictive signals to donor records, identifying those at risk of lapsing, ready to give, or suitable for upgrading to monthly or major gifts. It also includes on-demand AI prospect reports compiled within Bloomerang, eliminating separate tools or manual research. Dataro's models run on anonymised signals across millions of donors whilst keeping individual customer data within the platform. Bloomerang customers already record average one-time gifts of $166, 37% above industry averages. The integration requires no separate login or data export for existing users.
