About the job

Requirements

  • Clear enthusiasm for the capabilities and opportunities of artificial intelligence and agentic systems.
  • Strong system design skills and comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities

  • Design APIs, services, and data models, primarily on the backend.
  • Ensure reliability, security, privacy, and scalability in a regulated healthcare context.

9amHealth raises $26M to expand AI-driven virtual care beyond cardiometabolic conditions

9amHealth, a virtual specialty care platform, has raised $26 million in Series B funding led by Define Ventures, with participation from SemperVirens VC, Catalio Capital Management and NewHealth Ventures. The company says it has generated over $50 million in projected medical and pharmacy savings across two Fortune 100 employers. Founded in 2021, 9amHealth currently focuses on cardiometabolic conditions including obesity, diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. The platform combines clinical protocols, laboratory testing, medication management and continuous care delivery. The funding will support expansion into additional high-cost chronic conditions, which the company says account for up to 70% of employer pharmacy spend. 9amHealth uses AI-enabled clinical workflows to manage complex conditions at scale, partnering with employers, health plans and pharmacy benefit managers.

Calm/Storm Ventures: After The Foundation Comes The Storm

Calm/Storm Ventures has strong roots with business angel Hansi Hansmann, Speedinvest, and Runtastic. After the first focus on HealthTech, the next fund is about financing the best founders in Austria. 2021 was a hype year that doubled the number of unicorns worldwide to 1,058 from 586 in 2020 after massive amounts of venture capital were pumped into these tech companies. Everything was different in 2022, when mass layoffs, downrounds, and a lack of venture capital dominated the headlines. The founders and partners of the Austrian VC Calm/Storm Ventures know these two poles very well. Taken together, Lucanus Polagnoli (ex-Speedinvest), Hansi Hansmann, and Alfred Luger (ex-Runtastic) weigh in on more than 180 investments as fund managers and business angels

Calm/Storm Ventures: Nach Der Gründung Kommt Der Sturm
