About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Eight to ten years of practical, applied engineering design experience relating to industrial equipment.
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Solid understanding of industrial automation, including knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
- Experience using design software such as Autodesk products or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Design electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems for industrial automation.
- Select hardware, produce bills of materials, and oversee panel fabrication.
- Design networks and fieldbuses.
- Ensure the overall quality of design and design documentation for automation controls.
- Apply industry-accepted engineering practices and methodology to complete design deliverables successfully.
- Meet deadlines and take projects from start to finish.
- Develop project-specific scopes of design and design deliverables aligned with the project scope and customer needs.
- Design system architecture for machine control systems, including electrical schematics and network diagrams.
- Work within an engineering team to design custom automated equipment.
- Design within budget, develop concepts and quotes, lead project teams, troubleshoot, and interface with customers.
- Experience with Rockwell, Omron, Mitsubishi, or Siemens systems.
