  • Must have a coding credential such as Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Registered Nurse.
  • Must have two years of hospital and/or physician practice coding experience or successfully complete the one-year Revenue Integrity Internship Program.
  • Preferred: three to five years of experience in a hospital and/or physician practice setting.
  • Preferred: demonstrated communication skills and the ability to work independently and deal effectively with various types of personnel.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Responsibilities
  • Code procedures and enter charges in compliance with federal and state regulations and internal policies.
  • Coordinate with the Practice Coordinator and Revenue Integrity to ensure that necessary documentation supports selected procedure codes, or code cases as needed.
  • Participate in audits to evaluate the accuracy of selected codes.
  • Develop methodologies to improve identified coding issues.
Desired Qualifications
  • A degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration is preferred.
