About the company

Vertiv builds power and cooling equipment that keeps data centers, communication networks, and industrial facilities running through outages and heavy computing loads. Its Liebert cooling systems manage the heat generated by servers, while its power products protect equipment and distribute electricity. The company sells equipment directly and through distributors, then earns additional revenue from installation, maintenance, spare parts, and services throughout the equipment life cycle. Its portfolio also includes racks and software for monitoring and managing IT equipment. Vertiv became a standalone company in 2016 and is headquartered in Westerville, Ohio.

Vertiv Q3 sales hit $4.3B as organic orders more than double on AI demand

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) reported third-quarter 2026 net sales of $4.3 billion on its earnings call on October 28, 2026. Demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure is driving adoption of the company's power and thermal management systems. Organic orders more than doubled from a year earlier, said chief executive officer Giordano Albertazzi, though Vertiv does not disclose order figures. Factory-built modular infrastructure can cut data center deployment time by up to half, he said. It lets operators bring AI computing online and earn revenue sooner. Vertiv is expanding manufacturing capacity worldwide and pursuing targeted acquisitions while keeping its balance sheet disciplined. "We are delivering very strong results today, while investing aggressively for tomorrow," said executive chairman David Cote.

Vertiv swings to $355M net cash from $1.27B net debt, but a $1.45B deal looms

Vertiv, which sells power and cooling equipment for data centres, ended September with net cash of $355 million, against net debt of $1.27 billion a year earlier. It is the first quarter end since March 2020 in which its cash exceeded its debt. Cash and short-term investments rose to $3.71 billion from $1.94 billion, while debt edged up to $3.36 billion from $3.21 billion. Operations generated $3.67 billion of cash over twelve months, up from $1.53 billion. Third-quarter revenue grew 61.2% to $4.31 billion. On October 27, Vertiv completed a cash acquisition of UtilityInnovation Group for about $1.45 billion upfront, and could pay up to $1.15 billion more if earnings targets are met. The upfront price alone would leave net debt near $1.1 billion. The fourth-quarter report, expected in February 2027, will show where the balance sheet stands.

Wall Street in positive territory after Federal Reserve keeps interest rates unchanged.

Wall Street in positive territory after Federal Reserve keeps interest rates unchanged. The main US stock indices reacted positively to the Federal Reserve's decision not to change interest rates. In equities, Oracle had a very positive day after reporting optimistic results. October 28, 2026 at 8:14 p.m. US stock markets closed Wednesday's session in positive territory after the Federal Reserve (Fed) kept interest rates unchanged, without giving a clear signal about a possible hike in December. After two consecutive sessions of gains, the S&P 500 fluctuated around the flatline and closed up 0.28%, at 7,744.34 points. The index even touched session lows after the Bank of Canada raised rates and signaled that further hikes may be necessary. The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.27%, to 26,549.85 points, and the Dow Jones rose 0.19%, to 52,479.62 points. The benchmark interest rate remained in the range between 3.75% and 4%, in a decision with two dissenting votes. "The accumulation of more information will help the committee determine the appropriate policy to ensure a timely return of inflation to the 2% target," the central bank says in the statement. At the press conference, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh highlighted signs of stronger-than-expected economic activity, supported by consumption and business investment. "It is our responsibility to bring inflation down," he said. "We have made clear our readiness to act as circumstances require and shown our willingness to act," he added. "The Fed seems comfortable staying patient for now, since financial conditions have generally evolved in line with expectations," said Luis Alvarado of Wells Fargo Investment Institute, quoted by Bloomberg. "But patience should not be confused with complacency. Warsh made clear that Fed officials remain prepared to act if price pressures become widespread." In equities, Oracle rose almost 11% after forecasting free cash flow of $30 billion in the fiscal year ending in May 2029. Investors had expected that figure to remain negative, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The forecast eased concerns about the company's return on investment in artificial intelligence (AI). SK Hynix shares listed in the US rose more than 13% after the company announced it will return about another $45 billion to shareholders and forecast that the shortage of essential components for Nvidia's accelerators (-1.17%) will last at least until 2030. Vertiv, which makes electrical equipment for data centers, rose more than 16% after forecasting that 2026 sales will nearly triple compared with 2021.
