Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience building infrastructure automation, systems engineering, network infrastructure, or platform engineering solutions in complex environments.
  • Strong experience automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, or lifecycle management using Git workflows, structured configuration data, infrastructure-as-code or configuration management, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, testing, scripting, and code reviews.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, system configuration, package and service management, debugging, and scripting.
  • Solid understanding of network design, segmentation, virtual private networks, firewalls, encryption, and secure connectivity patterns.
  • Ability to independently solve ambiguous technical problems within a complex platform or infrastructure domain, drive solution design through implementation, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and support the growth of less experienced engineers.
  • Ability to travel quarterly for Program Management Reviews and team collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of reusable tooling, configuration management, and network infrastructure-as-code workflows that automate the lifecycle of Connectivity network infrastructure across customer environments.
  • Develop and maintain automation for Linux-based systems and network appliances, including system bootstrapping, secure configuration generation, package and software management, network configuration, updates, and validation.
  • Translate facility onboarding and sustainment needs into scalable technical workflows covering infrastructure provisioning, secure connectivity, configuration management, validation, monitoring, upgrades, and sustainment.
  • Build automation and infrastructure patterns aligned with zero-trust principles, network segmentation requirements, access controls, and critical infrastructure security expectations.
  • Break down ambiguous infrastructure and workflow problems into clear technical designs, implementation plans, and well-scoped engineering tasks.
  • Produce design documentation, implementation guidance, and operational handoff materials, and help reinforce standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability within Connectivity engineering work.
  • Provide code and design reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and help grow the team’s software-driven approach to provisioning and managing Connectivity network infrastructure.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience working within Department of Defense, Air Force, or federal contractor environments.
  • Relevant technical certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, or equivalent.
  • Experience with operational technology and industrial control systems, critical infrastructure, industrial networks, facility-edge environments, and network automation tools such as Ansible, Cisco DevNet, and open-source routing tools.
  • Residence in the Denver metropolitan area.

SimpleSense provides a cybersecurity and data integration platform for critical infrastructure, especially defense and public safety. Its Installation Resilience Platform applies zero-trust security to OT/CS networks, using segmentation, encryption, and continuous monitoring from edge to cloud, while fusing data from disparate sensors to give real-time situational awareness. The product suite includes InterConnect for data integration, IncidentLink for emergency data feeds, and DefenseAssure for breach simulation, and it pairs deployment with managed security services and field support to speed authorizations and operations on military and public safety networks.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • January 14, 2026 STRATFI funding added $15 million for AI fault detection.
  • July 2, 2026 Tyndall Phase 3 awarded SimpleSense $353,300 for IROC infrastructure.
  • August 2026 hiring shows seven engineering and product openings, signaling active deployment.

What critics are saying

  • SimpleSense still depends on Air Force contracting; one program delay crushes revenue.
  • Dragos, Claroty, Nozomi Networks, Cisco, and Siemens outspend it across OT security.
  • If STRATFI and Tyndall expansion stall in 2027, SimpleSense becomes a thin services contractor.

What makes SimpleSense unique

  • SimpleSense unifies OT, security, and facilities data without replacing installed equipment.
  • In 2026, its ATO-backed platform spans Tyndall and three service branches.
  • It won Air Force first operational cloud-connected OT ATO, a rare procurement edge.
