About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience building real-time systems with Java 17 or later, Spring Boot, Node.js, TypeScript, and React or React Native for operational user interfaces.
  • Production experience with OGC and geospatial standards and tools, including WMS, WFS, WMTS, GeoJSON, KML, tiling pipelines, and CesiumJS or Mapbox GL.
  • Experience generating and consuming Cursor-on-Target within the TAK ecosystem, with familiarity with ATAK plugins or TAK Server integration.
  • Experience with Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ; schema management using Protobuf or Avro; back-pressure; and exactly-once patterns.
  • Experience delivering software in AWS GovCloud IL4/IL5 and on-premises IL5/IL6 environments; RMF Steps 1–6, eMASS, POA&M/SPR; and contributing to an ATO package.
  • Experience implementing DISA STIG/SRG, FIPS 140-2/3 cryptography, PKI smartcard/PIV, and ABAC/RBAC authorization.
  • Experience with Prometheus/Grafana and ELK/OpenSearch observability in disconnected enclaves, and red/black deployment in air-gapped sites.
  • Experience with multi-tenant, multi-domain enterprise architecture, boundary services such as NIPR/SIPR/JWICS, data labeling/marking, and release control across domains.
  • Comfort working inside a SCIF without external package registries, with artifact whitelists and change control boards.
  • Ability to participate in 2-hour incident-response windows for operational outages and a shared team on-call rotation, and to write operational runbooks.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
Responsibilities
  • Design and ship real-time command-and-control workflows for tasking, tracks, alerts, and deconfliction across air and ground teams.
  • Build mobile and web mapping with tactical overlays, historical replay, and multi-user collaboration, markup, and reporting.
  • Integrate sensors and communications—including CoT/TAK, ADS-B, AIS, Iridium SBD, SATCOM/radio gateways, and BFT—into Guardian data planes.
  • Implement operational chat, voice, and video using XMPP, Matrix, WebRTC, or WebSockets, with message persistence and auditing in IL5/IL6 environments.
  • Engineer multi-level security patterns and cross-domain flows, including data diode/CDS policy, for situational-awareness feeds and alerts.
  • Own DevSecOps in restricted networks, including reproducible builds, SBOMs, STIG-hardened images, signed artifacts, and offline updates.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with C2/JADC2, including Link-16 familiarity and J-series semantics; waveform experience is not required.
  • Cross Domain Solutions policy scripting or deployment experience, such as Radiant Mercury or Forcepoint.
  • Geospatial tools and workflows including GDAL, tippecanoe, MBTiles, vector tile pipelines, and geofencing at scale.
  • Mobile operations experience with offline-first data synchronization, background location, and cryptography at rest on iOS or Android.
  • DoD 8570 Security+ CE certification; CASP or CISSP is a plus.
  • Infrastructure experience with Kubernetes (RKE/KE), Packer, Ansible, HashiCorp Vault, and artifact signing with cosign/Sigstore.
