Skylo Technologies provides satellite-based connectivity to extend coverage for existing devices, enabling constant communication in remote locations. By partnering with established satellite providers, Skylo uses their capacity to deliver a cohesive network without building its own satellites, offering connectivity to industries like energy, logistics, and healthcare. How it works: Skylo resells or bundles satellite capacity from partner networks to customers, delivering a two-way GPS and messaging service so remote workers can stay in touch and devices can report status. What makes Skylo different: it relies on existing satellite infrastructure to keep costs lower and focuses on delivering an integrated, easy-to-use network rather than building new satellites. What’s the goal: provide affordable, reliable remote communication and safety for workers, support remote grid monitoring, and enable critical operations such as vaccine delivery.

Skylo has closed an oversubscribed $30 million funding round led by NGP Capital, with participation from Westly Group and existing investors including Intel Capital, BMW i Ventures, Samsung Catalyst Fund, and Next47. The company provides direct-to-device satellite connectivity, operating the largest standards-based network that enables smartphones, vehicles, and IoT devices to connect in areas without cellular coverage. Skylo integrates with existing chipsets and works with mobile network operators to offer satellite coverage as an extension of terrestrial networks. The funding will support expansion into new markets. Skylo now offers commercial coverage in Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand, in addition to the entire United States, through a partnership with Viasat. Skylo's network has facilitated millions of messages globally across five continents and recently supported emergency communications during US hurricanes and wildfires.
Space42 appoints Skylo to power standards-based Direct-to-Device connectivity through its GEO satellite, Thuraya-4. Space42 and Skylo Technologies have partnered to deliver standards-based direct-to-device satellite connectivity through the Thuraya-4 satellite, enabling seamless voice and data services on regular mobile devices without changes to SIMs or carrier infrastructure. The collaboration expands mobile coverage into remote, rural, and maritime areas, with commercial rollout planned as regulatory approvals and operator agreements are secured. Space42, a UAE-based SpaceTech company, has partnered with Skylo Technologies to deliver standards-based direct-to-device connectivity through its geostationary satellite Thuraya-4. The companies have completed technology integration and demonstrated a bi-directional, real-time voice call over Thuraya-4 requiring no modified SIM or changes to existing operator infrastructure. The partnership integrates Skylo's 3GPP-compliant non-terrestrial network platform with Thuraya-4, enabling satellite and terrestrial networks to function as a unified system. Devices authenticate through existing SIM frameworks whilst extending coverage to rural, maritime and remote regions. Commercial deployment will begin across Thuraya-4's coverage footprint, expanding Skylo's NTN presence across more than 37 countries. The companies are securing regulatory approvals and operator agreements, with deployment expected on a rolling basis.

Blues has launched Notecard for Skylo, an industry-first module combining satellite, cellular and WiFi connectivity without requiring satellite subscriptions. The product was unveiled at Embedded World in Nuremberg on 9 March 2026 and became available on 10 March. The module automatically switches between three networks — NTN satellite powered by Skylo, narrowband cellular and WiFi — targeting mission-critical industries like transportation, logistics and energy. Traditional satellite IoT solutions require separate hardware and monthly subscriptions; Notecard for Skylo eliminates both, offering pay-as-you-go pricing. The launch follows Blues and Skylo's earlier collaboration on Starnote for Skylo. Blues, a Boston-based device-to-cloud system provider, combines plug-and-play hardware, data routing and fleet management into a single platform for connected products.
