- Teach normally four classes per academic year across the fall, spring, and summer semesters, with possible substitution by a special topics seminar, leadership section, or internship discussion section.
- Prepare lectures, deliver courses, liaise with appropriate NYU departments, review new course materials, mark student work, and hold office hours.
- Coordinate academic components and chaperone relevant high-touch excursions, including full-day and overnight trips.
- Collaborate with NYU colleagues on curricular issues, including course development, syllabus oversight and review, faculty hiring and performance review, course evaluations, and pedagogical support.
- Coordinate recruitment of new faculty across programs, including onboarding and ongoing training or support.
- Advise lecturers and develop co-curricular activities, events, and other program-related activities for Economics and Politics students.
- Provide guidance and training to students and faculty so they can access resources when navigating bias and matters contrary to an inclusive community.
- Assist with timetabling, faculty recruitment planning, student registration, and related academic-office activities.
- Participate in ongoing program assessment and coordinate faculty development for instructors.
- Support investigations of academic integrity concerns, academic disciplinary processes, and other academic conduct issues.
- Collaborate with career-development staff to support and develop structured career programming for Economics and Politics students.
- Develop and maintain individual or joint research projects in subject-related areas.
- Attend and participate in research seminars and conferences.
- Develop and contribute to knowledge transfer, particularly research-led teaching and learning.
- Engage in appropriate professional development.
- Respond to faculty and student queries concerning academics, conduct, attendance, illness, mental health, late work, plagiarism, class issues, complaints, and rescheduling.
- Advise students and faculty about academic policies and procedures.
- Plan and participate in student orientations and communicate with new students before matriculation.
- Assist with identifying faculty staffing needs and with faculty appointments, onboarding, training, and ongoing development.
- Assist with faculty evaluations and feedback.
- Assist with maintaining records of grades, attendance, and class offerings according to correct procedures.
- Assist with organising and supporting on-site functions and meetings.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the program.
- Perform other supporting duties assigned by academic leadership or required by the Director.
