Requirements
  • Strong hands-on experience in COBOL programming.
  • Ability to develop, enhance, debug, and optimize COBOL batch and online programs.
  • Expertise in JCL (Job Control Language), including the ability to write, modify, and analyze JCL and troubleshoot abends (system/program errors).
  • Solid working knowledge of DB2, including SQL queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and DB2 data handling from COBOL.
  • Experience with CICS and VSAM, including developing and maintaining CICS online transactions and using VSAM files (KSDS/ESDS/RRDS).
  • Core banking domain knowledge.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, debug, and optimize COBOL batch and online programs.
  • Write, modify, and analyze JCL and troubleshoot abends.
  • Develop and maintain CICS online transactions and use VSAM files.
  • Perform DB2 data handling from COBOL, including SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of mainframe utilities and tools such as File-AID, Abend-AID, Expeditor, SMP/E, Endevor, and CHANGEMAN.
  • Understanding of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps concepts.
  • Familiarity with source code management, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing on mainframe.
  • Performance tuning and system optimization skills, including tuning DB2 SQL, COBOL programs, and JCL job performance.
  • Experience in integration and modernization projects, including API/REST integration with mainframe, migration to cloud, mainframe reengineering, or modernization tools.
