Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of four (4) years of successful fundraising experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, as well as a high level of sophistication and maturity in social and professional settings
  • Curiosity and analytical thinking, global perspective; complex problem solving; ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, community and academic leaders in a team environment
  • Capability and willingness to quickly learn the college’s history, mission and regional campus programs
  • Comfort with using personal computers, tablets, and software programs for retrieving, organizing, researching, and presenting appropriate donor/prospect information; proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Millennium or Raisers Edge a Plus
  • Travels to meet with assigned portfolio prospects as needed
  • Staffs and supervises projects as needed
  • Drivers license, car
  • Familiarity with the mission and operations of Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Spreadsheet and database software experience
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented team environment
  • Experience with fundraising databases helpful
Responsibilities
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the strategic priorities of the Medical College of Wisconsin
  • Primarily responsible for building and managing a portfolio which consists of approximately 175 alumni prospects and donors believed to have the capacity to contribute at the $10,000+ level; qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects and donors strategically to achieve this goal
  • Work with select MCW Departments on creating and executing fundraising appeals to Faculty and Alumni
  • Responsible for working with classes and engaging Alumni for Reunion giving
  • Gather data, assess prospects, develop and execute strategies designed to realize the current and lifetime giving potential of prospects to achieve individual and departmental goals
  • Personally meets with prospects and make persuasive verbal and written cases for supporting key priorities, effectively matching the interests of prospects to specific projects and programs needing support and ensure effective stewardship of donor relationships
  • Properly record information about prospects and donors utilizing appropriate college databases; report activity and monitor resources and expenditures associated with his/her program and portfolio
  • Develop and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and volunteers associated with his/her portfolios/programs; meet with colleagues across campus to coordinate and execute strategies, utilizing experience and knowledge to resolve conflicts and build consensus
  • Have an understanding of the complex principles and techniques associated with planned giving and estate gifts; work collaboratively with Planned Giving colleagues to close planned gifts
  • Participate in advancement activities and events, including dinners, receptions, and other fundraising initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
