Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an earned Master of Science in Nursing degree.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Hold current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification and Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Hold a current California furnishing number, National Provider Identifier, and Drug Enforcement Administration registration number.
  • Hold and maintain current national and state board certification as a nurse practitioner from an approved organization, including the American Nurses Credentialing Center, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, or National Certification Corporation for Obstetrics, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialty.
  • Hold current certification in Basic Life Support.
  • Have recent experience in an advanced practice nurse role.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, SharePoint, Adobe, and PeopleSoft.
  • Have knowledge of office policies and procedures, strong organizational skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally with diverse individuals.
  • Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Be able to work independently, take direction, work as a team member, and maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities
  • Perform age-appropriate history and physical examinations for behavioral health and primary care disorders independently.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients’ age-specific needs.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Implement interventions to help patients regain or maintain physiologic stability.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional clinic team members to establish advanced practice policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools.
  • Ensure continuity of care after hours and on weekends.
  • Document clinical findings with appropriate follow-up and referral.
  • Adhere to the project’s daily clinical operations.
  • Maintain national and state board certifications.
  • Attend regular staff meetings, training, off-site healthcare events, and other meetings as requested.
  • Implement telehealth technology used to capture and store biometric clinical data for transmission to Project Team clinicians’ mobile, tablet, or laptop devices.
  • Provide oversight for student clinical supervision in collaboration with faculty and preceptors.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support is preferred.
