KRAFTON, the gaming company behind PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, is applying its game-building experience to robotics through its subsidiary Ludo Robotics. The unit builds AI for robots that can understand, communicate, and collaborate with people. On October 30, 2026, Ludo Robotics presented Ludi 0.2, the latest version of its robotic intelligence system, at the Bay Area Robotics Symposium at UC Berkeley. The update improves social cues, memory and reasoning, gesture recognition, tool coordination, and movement. Ludi 0.1 launched in August 2026. A next-generation model, Ludi 1.0, is in development; it aims to combine perception, dialogue, and physical action. Ludo Robotics is based in Palo Alto, California, with an R&D lab in Seoul.
MIMESIS deepens its ai-driven horror with second major update. October 28, 2026 First anniversary update introduces smarter Mimesis behavior, a new Paranoia system, a film studio map, new monsters and more. EL SEGUNDO, CALIF. - October 27, 2026 - KRAFTON, Inc. and ReLU Games today released Off the Rails, the second major update for MIMESIS, the four-player co-op horror game from KRAFTON creative studio ReLU Games. Arriving as MIMESIS marks one year in Early Access, the update expands the game's AI-driven social deception with a new Paranoia system, enhanced Mimesis behavior, a new film studio map, additional monsters and equipment, and anniversary events. MIMESIS is an AI-native co-op horror game where players must work together to survive while trying to identify an AI-controlled entity hiding among them. Known as the Mimesis, the creature mimics players' appearances, movements, behavior and voices in real time, secretly blending in with teammates and creating tension and distrust as players try to determine who can be trusted. New Paranoia System Makes Players Question What Is Real The new Paranoia system adds another layer of uncertainty by changing what individual players see and hear based on their contamination level. As contamination increases, one player may see a Mimesis that is completely invisible to their teammates or hear voices that no one else can hear. By giving players different perceptions of the same situation, the system is designed to make communication and trust even more important as teams attempt to separate real threats from hallucinations. The Mimesis itself has also been upgraded to better observe player habits and react to its surroundings. The enhanced AI allows it to imitate player behavior more naturally, creating more convincing deception and less predictable encounters as teammates work together to identify the impostor among them. Explore a New Film Studio Map Off the Rails also introduces a new map set inside a film studio. Unlike existing locations, the map creates a more seamless environment without the usual separation between indoor and outdoor areas, beginning with a crash-landing sequence that sends the team's tram somewhere it was never supposed to go. The update expands the game further with new monsters, Scrap, Service Stations and equipment. New gear can increase inventory capacity or help players communicate with teammates, while new traps create additional strategic options. The game's user interface has also been overhauled to improve usability. Celebrating One Year in Early Access To mark MIMESIS' first year in Early Access, players can generate a personalized Survival Report based on their gameplay history and receive a commemorative anniversary skin. MIMESIS is also participating in Steam's Scream V Halloween event with a 60% discount from October 27 through November 3, its largest discount since launch. Pre-orders for new MIMESIS merchandise also open October 27 through EBTEN. The anniversary follows a year of milestones for MIMESIS. The game surpassed two million copies sold worldwide in June and became the first Korean game to receive an Excellence Award in the Game Design category at the CEDEC Awards 2026, recognizing the creativity and technical execution behind its AI-driven gameplay design. MIMESIS also continues to hold a "Very Positive" user rating on Steam. About KRAFTON, Inc. With the vision of "the convergence of deep learning and games," the studio focuses on developing games using deep learning technologies. Its name originates from the ReLU (Rectified Linear Unit) function, a widely used activation function in artificial neural networks that outputs zero for negative input values. Like its namesake, ReLU Games embraces the spirit of resilience - absorbing failure and pursuing challenges and innovation. The studio has released original AI-powered titles such as MIMESIS and Uncover the Smoking Gun, Magical Mic Duel: Senpai, Hear My Spell, and plans to continue introducing a variety of new games. About MIMESIS MIMESIS is a four-player co-op horror game in which players must face an AI-driven NPC monster, "Mimesis," that behaves like a human player. Set in a world transformed by a mysterious rain that turns humans into "Mimesis" beings capable of replicating other people's voices and actions, the game places players in an extreme situation where they must cooperate with teammates while never being able to fully trust one another. The game unfolds around a tram, and players must gather resources and work together to keep it running. At the same time, the constant possibility that one of their teammates may be revealed as a Mimesis shapes the experience throughout. Drawing on feedback accumulated through two rounds of testing and demos, ReLU Games has implemented a more refined AI-powered monster, "Mimesis," in the Early Access version. Players can experience deep immersion through the subtle tension created by the intersection of cooperation and suspicion. MIMESIS launched in Early Access on Steam on October 27, 2025, and has surpassed two million copies sold worldwide. Play Hard Or Don't Play At All!

Krafton and Netmarble Q3 forecasts Show 20%+ profit declines in Korean stocks. 2026-10-22 16:46:15 Key takeaways. * Krafton projects Q3 2026 operating profit decline of 23.43% year-over-year to 266.9 billion won due to Subnautica 2 launch effect stabilization and increased Gamescom marketing expenses. * According to six securities firms consensus, Netmarble expects Q3 operating profit to decline 22.55% year-over-year to 70.4 billion won amid major game update off-season. * NCSOFT returns to profitability in Q3 2026 with 108.5 billion won operating profit driven by Lineage Classic sustained traffic and 30 billion won Throne and Liberty publishing transition revenue. Krafton and Netmarble are forecast to see Q3 2026 operating profits decline over 20% year-over-year as the post-launch period for new titles enters a lull, according to securities analyst consensus compiled on October 23. NCSOFT is expected to return to profitability in Q3 with sustained traffic for Lineage Classic and one-time revenue from the Throne and Liberty publishing transition. The forecasts reflect Korean gaming stocks navigating a quarter marked by content update cycles and game portfolio transitions rather than major new releases. Krafton Q3 forecast shows 23% operating profit decline. Krafton is projected to record Q3 revenue of 1.1121 trillion won and operating profit of 266.9 billion won, representing a 27.74% revenue decline and 23.43% operating profit decline year-over-year. The consensus is based on reports from 11 securities firms issued within the past month. Operating profit is also lower than Q2's 410.9 billion won, attributed to the stabilization of Subnautica 2's launch effect following its Q2 release and a reduction in the number of in-game events compared to the previous year. Marketing expenses increased due to the company showcasing multiple titles at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany during Q3, and payment fees rose from outsourced development for the Wellmade mode. Lee Jong-won, researcher at BNK Investment & Securities, stated that "the earnings contraction is due to factors such as the stabilization of Subnautica 2's launch effect, content revenue recognition timing, and cost execution, rather than structural weakening of PUBG's competitiveness." Krafton Logo [Source: Yonhap News file photo] Netmarble Q3 operating profit expected to drop 22% amid update lull. Netmarble is expected to post Q3 revenue of 682.2 billion won and operating profit of 70.4 billion won, down 1.97% and 22.55% year-over-year respectively, according to consensus from six securities firms. The decline reflects the absence of new titles and the impact of the update off-season for major games including 'MCoC', 'Seven Knights Revolution', and 'The Seven Deadly Sins', as well as revenue decline for 'Solo Leveling: Arise' following the September launch of competing titles. Kim Dong-woo, researcher at Kyobo Securities, noted that "Netmarble's major anticipated titles this year underperformed market expectations" and "the announcement of the new title lineup is expected to occur during the Q3 earnings announcement." Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2026 Netmarble Booth [Source: Yonhap News file photo] NCSOFT Q3 forecast returns to profit on Lineage Classic and TL revenue. NCSoft is projected to achieve Q3 revenue of 715.5 billion won and operating profit of 108.5 billion won, representing a 98.76% revenue increase and a return to profitability. Lineage Classic maintained traffic and served as a cash cow, while Aion 2 conducted a major update in early July to defend against traffic decline. The global version of Aion 2, which launched in early access on September 29, reached No. 1 on Steam's global chart, though Q3 revenue reflection is limited due to the short inclusion period. Throne and Liberty transitioned from Amazon Games publishing to direct publishing after contract termination, generating an estimated one-time revenue of approximately 30 billion won. Jung Ho-yoon, researcher at Korea Investment & Securities, stated that "both revenue and profit will contract quarter-over-quarter due to declining sales of the core lineup" but "Q3 is expected to record results exceeding current market consensus due to one-time TL-related revenue." Faq. Q: Why did Krafton's Q3 operating profit decline 23% year-over-year? A: The decline is attributed to the stabilization of Subnautica 2's launch effect following its Q2 release, a reduction in the number of in-game events compared to the previous year, increased marketing expenses from showcasing multiple titles at Gamescom in Cologne during Q3, and higher payment fees from outsourced development for the Wellmade mode. Q: What caused NCSOFT to return to profitability in Q3 2026? A: NCSOFT's return to profitability is driven by sustained traffic for Lineage Classic, a major update for Aion 2 in early July that defended against traffic decline, and one-time revenue of approximately 30 billion won from the Throne and Liberty publishing transition after the contract with Amazon Games ended. Q: How did Netmarble's major games perform in Q3 2026? A: Netmarble experienced revenue declines during Q3 due to the absence of new titles and the update off-season for major games including 'MCoC', 'Seven Knights Revolution', and 'The Seven Deadly Sins', as well as revenue decline for 'Solo Leveling: Arise' following the September launch of competing titles. Arvis Games announces "PUBG: Board Royale" and unveils at SPIEL Essen. NODWIN Gaming, KRAFTON, and Arvis Games are bringing PUBG: Board Royale to SPIEL Essen 2026, offering players their first opportunity to experience the physical prototype ahead of its worldwide launch in 2027. Developed by Arvis Games in collaboration with KRAFTON and NODWIN Gaming, PUBG: Board Royale transforms the tension, tactical decision-making, and unpredictability that define PUBG into a face-to-face, social tabletop experience. Supporting two to six players, each match begins with players choosing a landing location before exploring the island, gathering resources, crafting equipment, and adapting their strategies as the play area continues to shrink. With matches lasting between 30 and 90 minutes, every decision can change the course of the game, requiring players to manage their resources, respond to opponents, and seize opportunities to become the last player standing. From October 22-25, visitors to Messe Essen can participate in the first public playtest of PUBG: Board Royale at Hall 3, Booth 3Q125, getting an early look at the game ahead of its planned worldwide launch in 2027. The playtest at SPIEL Essen will give the tabletop gaming community an opportunity to experience these systems in physical form and see how the defining elements of PUBG's battle royale gameplay have been adapted for the tabletop. Players will be able to explore the island, build their inventories, make tactical decisions, and react to the changing battlefield while experiencing the negotiations, shifting alliances, and calculated risks that shape every match of PUBG: Board Royale. Visitors who participate in the playtest or follow the PUBG: Board Royale Kickstarter pre-launch page will also have the opportunity to receive a limited-edition Holofoil Promo Card, while supplies last. The event will also mark an important step toward the game's upcoming Kickstarter campaign, allowing attendees to follow the project's development and stay connected throughout its journey toward launch. Atakan Cankorur, CEO of Arvis Games, said: "Bringing together PUBG, one of the world's biggest IPs, with our beloved 'Board Royale' universe has been a source of great pride for us. Through the collaboration between KRAFTON, NODWIN, and Arvis, we have created PUBG: Board Royale, one of the largest global collaborations to come out of Türkiye. Our vision was to create an unforgettable experience for all players by preserving the familiarity of the PUBG universe while leveraging the powerful and social mechanics of tabletop gaming. We are incredibly excited for players to get their hands on PUBG: Board Royale and experience it for themselves." Doruk Demirsar of NODWIN Gaming said: "Bringing PUBG: Board Royale to SPIEL Essen is an important milestone for us, as it marks the first time players will be able to sit down at the table and experience the game firsthand. A significant part of the development process has been about understanding how PUBG's tension, strategy, and unpredictability can translate into a shared physical experience around a table. We are looking forward to putting the prototype in front of the tabletop gaming community, listening to their feedback, and seeing the different strategies players bring to the game." The presence at SPIEL Essen represents the latest milestone in the development of PUBG: Board Royale, as KRAFTON, NODWIN Gaming, and Arvis Games continue working on the franchise's first official tabletop adaptation. Through the first public playtest, community feedback, and the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, the teams will continue their efforts toward the game's worldwide launch in 2027.
