  • A current or attainable welder certification such as AWS D1.1/D1.6, ASME Section IX, or equivalent is required, along with the ability to recertify to specific weld procedures as required.
  • Ability to perform orbital gas tungsten arc welding/tungsten inert gas welding of stainless steel tube and pipe, typically 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch outside diameter.
  • Ability to read and apply AWS welding symbols, weld procedure specifications, and engineering drawings or blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision and use standard operating procedures to resolve routine problems.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods; lift up to 35 pounds; and safely use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to wear cleanroom coveralls, hood, mask, booties, gloves, and other required personal protective equipment, including a welding helmet, steel-toed shoes, and safety glasses in designated areas.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate autogenous and wire-fed orbital welding equipment to join stainless steel and specialty alloy tubing, fittings, and vacuum components to exacting quality standards.
  • Read and interpret work orders, operation method sheets, blueprints, weld procedure specifications, and piping and instrumentation diagrams to determine weld sequence, joint preparation, and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of vacuum, gas delivery, and pneumatic subassemblies.

Applied Materials stock falls 24% since October 12 after investor day offers no spending forecast

Applied Materials shares have fallen 24% since October 12, from $497.53 to $377.24 at Friday's close. The drop followed an October 13 investor presentation in which the company set ambitious profit targets but gave no forecast for wafer fab equipment (WFE) spending. By 2030, Applied Materials targets a non-GAAP gross margin of about 54% and an operating margin of 40%. Chief executive officer Gary Dickerson declined to give a WFE forecast but expressed "tremendous confidence" in computing demand. The stock fell 6.7% on October 13, more than rivals Lam Research, KLA, and ASML, which lost roughly 2.6% to 3.5%. It trades at about 21.4x forward earnings, down from nearly 49x in late June. The company reports fiscal fourth-quarter earnings on November 12. Analysts expect revenue of about $10.30 billion and adjusted earnings of $4.06 per share. China accounts for about 30% of fiscal 2025 revenue.
