Requirements
- At least one year of relevant experience is required.
- A Red Seal Millwright certification is required.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, are required.
- Strong mathematical, mechanical, and problem-solving skills are required.
- The ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and take initiative on projects is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage project installations as directed within the allocated time and budget.
- Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks, and tractors, to position machinery and parts during installation, setup, and repair.
- Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during machinery overhaul, maintenance, or setup.
- Install, align, take apart, troubleshoot, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, including pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators, using hand and power tools.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as programmable logic controls.
- Work with various departments to ensure company, safe-work, and standard operating procedure policies are in effect.
- Ensure contractor Workers' Compensation Board approvals, plant safety-program orientation, and confidentiality statements.
- Work under the direction of the project manager to complete project installations on time and within budget.
- Provide direction to and supervise contractors working on projects.
- Inspect new equipment and parts to ensure compliance with purchase orders.
- Work with maintenance and production teams to ensure standard operating procedures and training materials are provided at project sign-off.
Desired Qualifications
- An Electrical or Power Engineering ticket is preferred.
