Garmin has beaten the S&P 500 four years running: 22 stocks did it, about twice what luck predicts

Garmin shares have beaten the S&P 500 in each of the last four years, but the streak may owe something to chance. Only 22 of 485 current index members did the same, about twice the 11 that pure luck would produce. Garmin's net income rose every year of the streak, up 109% overall, while the shares gained 238%. Profit grew only 3.5% in one year, and the latest year includes refunds of earlier tariffs. Fitness is Garmin's largest segment, at 32.5% of fiscal 2025 revenue. Management raised its full-year guide and now expects 2026 revenue to grow 12%, though it expects higher memory costs to pull gross margin back to a historical range in 2027. The next report, due in February 2027, will show net income growth.

Garmin rolls out vivoactive 6 beta 19.15 Update - fixes Alipay battery drain and more.

Garmin rolls out vivoactive 6 beta 19.15 Update - fixes Alipay battery drain and more. Garmin has pushed a fresh software update to its popular vivoactive 6 smartwatch, and while it may not bring headline-grabbing new features, it addresses a handful of nagging bugs that have been bothering users. Beta version 19.15 arrives just as the company wraps up its 18.xx release cycle, which introduced goodies like the XC Ski Indoor activity and suggested quick workouts for runners. If you're enrolled in Garmin's Public Beta program, the update should already be available for download. According to the official changelog on Garmin's forums, the most notable fix is a battery drain issue that occurred when using Alipay - a welcome relief for anyone who noticed their watch inexplicably losing charge faster than usual. What else is new in beta 19.15? Beyond the battery fix, Garmin has made several quality-of-life improvements worth highlighting: * Auto Lap prompts now announce the number of completed laps during your workout, making it easier to stay on track without glancing at your wrist. * Pulse Ox readings no longer trigger vibrations, which is a small but thoughtful tweak for anyone taking readings during rest or sleep. * Manual snooze option has been added to move alerts, giving you more control over notifications. * On-watch instructions are now included for pairing an HRM 200 or HRM 600 heart rate monitor - handy for new users setting up accessories. Garmin also squashed bugs tied to the Breathwork Live Activity, the Radar Camera Controls data screen, and Find My Device alerts, so the overall experience should feel a bit more polished. How to install the update. If you own a Garmin vivoactive 6 (currently priced at $299 on Amazon) and are part of the beta program, installation is straightforward. Head to Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates on your watch, and the download should appear. For those not in the beta program, it's likely only a matter of time before these fixes roll out to the stable release channel. Garmin typically promotes beta features to all users once testing wraps up, so keep an eye on your watch for a notification. Why this update matters. While none of these changes are revolutionary, they demonstrate Garmin's commitment to listening to its user base. The Alipay battery drain fix, in particular, addresses a real pain point for users in regions where the payment service is widely used. Small refinements like quieter Pulse Ox readings and lap announcements may seem minor on paper, but they add up to a smoother day-to-day experience. As always, beta software can carry some risk of instability, so if you rely heavily on your vivoactive 6 for critical workouts or health tracking, you might want to wait for the stable release. But for tinkerers and early adopters, beta 19.15 is ready to install now. For the full technical breakdown, you can check out the complete changelog or read the original report.
