About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical discipline is required.
  • Have 5–10 years of product experience, including meaningful time in financial infrastructure rather than only customer-facing products.
  • Have owned real infrastructure in at least one of these areas: ledgers, general ledgers, or balance and transaction systems; payments processing, orchestration, or money movement such as ACH, card networks, transfers, settlement, or LATAM equivalents (PIX, SPEI, PSE, CCE); card issuing or card program management; deposit, wallet, or account platforms; lending origination or loan servicing platforms; or product work at a processor, Banking-as-a-Service provider, or core banking vendor.
  • Understand double-entry accounting concepts in software, including debits and credits, sub-ledgers, accruals, and reconciliation, or be prepared to learn them quickly.
  • Have a deep technical understanding of APIs, event-driven architecture, idempotency, distributed-system failure modes, batch versus real-time processing, and data flows.
  • Have strong SQL skills and be comfortable querying and interpreting data independently.
  • Have worked directly with Compliance, Legal, Finance, or Treasury stakeholders, not only Engineering and Design.
  • Be comfortable working in ambiguity and making sound, documented decisions with incomplete information.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills to participate effectively in engineering standups, Finance reviews, and executive discussions.
  • Have hands-on familiarity with AI tools, data models, or generative AI applications.
  • Maintain high standards by preventing defects from moving downstream and ensuring problems are fixed sustainably.
  • Challenge conventions and develop new ways of working.
  • Act with urgency and make calculated decisions in a fast-moving business environment.
  • Listen attentively, speak candidly, treat others respectfully, and respectfully challenge decisions when appropriate.
  • Focus on key inputs, deliver quality work on time, and persist through setbacks.
Responsibilities
  • Own and sequence the banking platform roadmap to support accounts, deposits, cards, and lending on a single ledger and account model.
  • Evaluate core banking platforms and processors, conduct vendor diligence, model cost and time-to-market, and help leadership decide whether to extend existing systems or integrate a third party.
  • Work with Engineering and Finance to shape account hierarchies, sub-ledgers, chart-of-accounts mapping, posting rules, holds, interest and fee accrual, and general-ledger integration.
  • Own product requirements for transfers, ACH, card issuing and network settlement, real-time payment rails, returns, and reversals, including exception handling, cutoff windows, and settlement reconciliation.
  • Ensure the platform produces the reporting, traceability, and controls needed by Finance, audit, and regulators, including reconciliation breaks, balance attestation, and complete transaction history.
  • Work with Compliance and Legal to turn regulatory requirements into platform capabilities, including screening hooks, onboarding data, error resolution, disclosures and statements, and reporting.
  • If migration is in scope, own data mapping, parallel-run strategy, validation criteria, rollback plans, and phased cutover.
  • Own detailed technical specifications, API contracts, event schemas, data models, user stories, and release plans end to end.
  • Write SQL, define platform KPIs such as posting latency, reconciliation break rate, settlement accuracy, and failure rates, and monitor them.
  • Anticipate technical risks, edge cases, race conditions, and dependencies before they become incidents.
  • Deliver against evolving regulatory and business timelines with incomplete information.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct experience with a core banking platform, in-house or vendor, such as Thought Machine, Mambu, 10x, Finxact, Temenos, Technisys, Galileo, Pismo, or similar.
  • Experience with a core migration, conversion, or major ledger replacement.
  • Experience at a chartered or licensed financial institution, or supporting a charter, banking licence, or deposit insurance application.
  • Familiarity with consumer finance regulation, including US Reg E, Reg DD, Reg CC, Reg Z, TILA, FCRA, and BSA/AML, or equivalent local regimes.
  • Background in consumer credit or BNPL, card products, or bank-fintech sponsorship programs.
  • Experience with third-party risk management and vendor oversight in a regulated environment.

SoFi operates a broader ecosystem including deposits, lending, investing and business banking. Sezzle's active subscribers reached 854,000 in Q2, up 76.4% year over year, with purchase frequency climbing to 7.2 times quarterly. Sezzle launches SezzleCash advance product to drive subscriber growth beyond BNPL

Sezzle is expanding beyond buy now, pay later with SezzleCash, a cash-advance product for short-term liquidity needs. Available to eligible Sezzle Anywhere subscribers, it allows consumers to access funds and repay through Pay-in-4 or Pay-in-5 instalments plus a service fee. Early adoption shows promise. The average advance was approximately $165, and nearly 10% of eligible new subscribers requested an advance as their first transaction. Sezzle's subscriber base reached 854,000 in the second quarter of 2026, up 76.4% year over year. Management is cautiously fine-tuning underwriting and marketing. Fiscal year 2026 guidance assumes no material upside from SezzleCash. The product competes with Block's Cash App Borrow and Dave's ExtraCash in the short-term cash access market.

Sezzle and WebBank broaden partnership with launch of SezzleCash and Sezzle Send.

Sezzle and WebBank broaden partnership with launch of SezzleCash and Sezzle Send. On August 18, 2026, Sezzle Inc. announced via a Form 8-K filing that it finalized Second Amended and Restated Bank Program Agreements with WebBank on August 12, 2026, enhancing their existing banking collaboration to incorporate two new products and revising certain financial covenants. Key highlights. * Agreement date: The updated Second Amended Bank Program Agreements were signed on August 12, 2026, between Sezzle Inc. and WebBank, a Utah-chartered industrial bank. * Introduction of two new products: The amended agreements extend the program to include SezzleCash, a cash advance offering, and Sezzle Send, a payments solution backed by installment loans. * Loan retention by WebBank: For these new products, WebBank will hold loans on its balance sheet until maturity, subject to an initial aggregate retention cap of $30.0 million, which may be increased at WebBank's discretion up to $150.0 million. * Financial covenant update: The minimum tangible net worth requirement for Sezzle was raised from $12.0 million to $100.0 million. * Program duration: The program's original term remains unchanged, continuing through September 27, 2029. * Exclusive loan originator: WebBank continues as the sole originator of consumer installment loans and cash advance products marketed and serviced by Sezzle, with limited exceptions. Sezzle and WebBank revise agreements to incorporate SezzleCash and Sezzle Send products. Sezzle Inc. (NASDAQ:SEZL) and WebBank executed a Second Amended and Restated Loan and Receivables Sale Agreement alongside a Second Amended and Restated Marketing and Servicing Agreement on August 12, 2026. These agreements amend and restate the prior agreements dated September 26, 2024, which governed their existing bank partnership program. Under this program, WebBank originates and funds consumer installment loans linked to Sezzle's offerings, while Sezzle maintains servicing responsibilities for all loans originated. The filing detailed that the expanded program now includes two additional products: SezzleCash, a cash advance product, and Sezzle Send, a payments product supported by installment loans with proceeds disbursed by WebBank to deposit accounts it establishes. Unlike the sale structure for existing products, WebBank will retain loans for these new products on its balance sheet until maturity, subject to an aggregate retention threshold initially set at $30.0 million, with certain exceptions. WebBank may increase this threshold up to $150.0 million at its discretion. Furthermore, the filing disclosed amendments to certain company covenants, notably increasing the minimum tangible net worth requirement from $12.0 million to $100.0 million. New termination clauses were added relating to judgments, fines, or penalties exceeding specified limits and breaches of financial covenants. The filing emphasized that other significant program terms, including the sale structure and economics for existing products, "remain substantially unchanged." Sezzle plans to file the agreements as exhibits to its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ending September 30, 2026. Summary of disclosure. Sezzle revealed it has amended its bank program agreements with WebBank to broaden their partnership by adding two new products, modifying loan retention policies for these products, and increasing the minimum tangible net worth covenant from $12.0 million to $100.0 million.
