  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification.
  • Information Assurance Technical Level II qualification, such as CompTIA Security+.
  • At least 5 years of experience with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework, Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework, Department of Defense Authority to Operate processes, Department of Defense Zero Trust, application refactoring, large complex enterprise-level cloud environments, network cloud architecture development, Department of Defense information system development processes, and configuration and change management.
  • A Secret clearance.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation, AWS Cloud Development Kit, and Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration using Amazon Elastic Container Service and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program High / Department of Defense Impact Level 2, 4, and 5 Amazon Web Services GovCloud offerings.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud network architecture, including virtual private cloud design, subnetting, routing, and cross-account and cross-virtual-private-cloud connectivity in large multi-account environments.
  • Familiarity with information security and assurance principles and supporting technologies.
  • Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle, continuous integration and continuous delivery, and Git version-control workflows including branching, code review, and release management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with senior government staff and explain complex concepts in plain language.
  • Ability to de-escalate technical issues and enable rapid resolution.
Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance on secure computing architecture, cloud brokerage services, shared security services management, cloud security support services, cloud governance, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program coordination, and departmental cloud or hybrid certification.
  • Provide leadership or participation in Scaled Agile Framework principles for developing workflows, accomplishing tasks, and implementing and managing cloud services.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training for government personnel as part of daily operations.
  • Incorporate security controls, continuous monitoring, Risk Management Framework NIST SP 800-37, security risk impact analysis, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Support vulnerability management, including closure of Plans of Actions and Milestones.
  • Author formal service evaluations, architecture decision records, and design documentation to determine which Amazon Web Services are approved for tenant consumption within the brokerage, considering security posture, Impact Level 4 and 5 constraints, cost, and operational impact.
  • Promote continuous process improvement, learning, and team collaboration.
