Requirements
  • An RN degree—Associate Degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or Master of Science in Nursing—or an LPN qualification from an accredited school of nursing.
  • A valid nursing license in the State of Arizona with no adverse actions.
  • An unencumbered nursing license.
  • The ability to pass a criminal background, fingerprint, and central registry check.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Basic keyboarding and computer skills.
  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff, other professionals, and consumers.
  • The ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions in English.
  • The ability to use office equipment and perform repetitive manual and finger-dexterity tasks with eye-hand coordination.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds using appropriate body mechanics.
  • The ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, sit, and walk for periods of time.
  • The ability to assist with transfers of individuals weighing up to 250 pounds using manual or mechanical lifting devices.
  • The ability to work in home-like and office settings with varying background noise, handle emergencies, and manage crisis situations.
  • The ability to interact safely with consumers who may be frail, confused, intellectually or developmentally delayed, or potentially verbally or physically aggressive.
Responsibilities
  • Provide for the emotional, medical, and physical needs of Danville’s consumers.
  • Improve consumers’ quality of life by observing, documenting, reporting, taking action, and following up on their health, safety, and medical needs.
  • Implement medical recommendations made by the team and the Director of Nursing.
  • Provide nursing services under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
  • Remain within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Follow universal precautions when exposure to bloodborne pathogens is possible.
  • Meet scheduled appointments and deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of nursing experience is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid, Prevention & Support, Article 9, and other training required by Danville and the State of Arizona Division for Developmental Disabilities.
