About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience managing large-scale field operations, logistics, asset recovery, or after-sales service, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience managing distributed field teams across multiple regions in Nigeria, with understanding of local infrastructure, logistics constraints, and field recovery dynamics.
  • Experience managing third-party service providers, contractors, or agency networks with performance-based contracts.
  • Direct experience in the Nigerian market and its logistical, regulatory, and operational realities.
  • Ability to design and implement structured operational processes, including standard operating procedures, escalation frameworks, and settlement procedures.
  • Strong analytical capability to use data for decisions, track performance, and calculate return on investment for recovery spending.
  • Financial discipline and budget management experience, including managing a budget or cost centre, understanding unit economics, and demonstrating net positive recovery value.
  • Technical and systems acumen, including experience with product management or development lifecycles, writing briefs, working with engineers, GPS tracking, customer relationship management systems, field management tools, or route optimisation platforms.
  • Familiarity with insurance claim processes, write-off accounting, or asset disposal regulations in Nigeria.

Responsibilities

  • Own the terminal recovery lifecycle, defining escalation speed and settlement windows based on terminal age, transaction history, and recovery economics.
  • Ensure each terminal entering recovery mode is assigned, tracked, escalated on schedule, and settled within its gate deadline through recovery, write-off, paid write-off, or insurance claim.
  • Design and continuously refine the recovery strategy, including device collection, swap logistics, sales agent coordination, external agency management, and asset return to custody.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable a distributed field recovery team across multiple regions.
  • Instill operational discipline, accountability, and ethical conduct in the team, including when handling lost assets, disputes, and bounty payments.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for recovery scenarios, including BRM-led recovery, external agency coordination, business takeover, faulty terminal collection, voluntary write-off processing, dispute handling, and revive processing.
  • Build training programmes for recovery agents covering terminal identification, check-in procedures, dispute evidence collection, GPS and field management tools, and escalation protocols.
  • Define and track recovery KPIs, including pre-write-off recovery rate, BRM recovery rate, external recovery rate, average days to recovery, cost per recovery, post-write-off revive rate, and bounty efficiency.
  • Own recovery economics and ensure total bounty and logistics costs remain below the value of recovered terminals so the programme is self-funding.
  • Report monthly on terminals entering recovery mode, terminals recovered, terminals written off, terminals revived, net financial impact, bounty spend, external agency spend, and dispute volumes and outcomes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in fintech, telecoms, e-commerce logistics, or another high-volume distributed asset management environment.
  • Experience managing asset recovery at scale, involving thousands of units per month.
