What believers are saying

  • Anglophone South promoted BusPlanner sign-ups again on July 23, 2025, showing retention.
  • BusPlanner hosted a user conference in Cambridge, Ontario, on April 21-23, 2026.
  • SRCE will route bus alerts through BusPlanner starting December 11, 2025, expanding usage.

What critics are saying

  • BusBoss publicly markets a BusPlanner alternative, compressing differentiation and pricing.
  • Revenue concentration in district contracts creates churn risk when boards standardize vendors in 2026.
  • If districts move alerts to PowerSchool-native tools, BusPlanner loses its parent-facing wedge.

What makes BusPlanner unique

  • BusPlanner combines routing, eligibility, and parent alerts in one school-transportation workflow.
  • Its 2026 product pages emphasize AI-powered route optimization and real-time route subscriptions.
  • District portals still use BusPlanner across Calgary and Lambton Kent in September 2026.

SRCE updates class and bus changes notification systems

SRCE updates class and bus changes notification systems. After a snowy Monday of school closures, a reminder that the Strait Regional Centre for Education is updating how they will notify bus or class changes. Starting on Thursday, December 11, parents and guardians will start receiving alerts through two new apps. For bus route notifications, including bus service delays and cancellations, the parent portal will be through BusPlanner. Class Notifications, including cancellations, delays, early dismissals and shutdowns, will go out via SchoolMessenger. The Hawk will continue to broadcast and post any changes as we become aware of them.
