Hilton and Scandic launch Nordic hotel partnership, including 284-room Copenhagen Airport site

Hilton Worldwide Holdings and Scandic Hotels Group have agreed a multi-year development partnership across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. It includes a 284-room Hilton hotel at Copenhagen Airport, which Scandic will run under franchise. The hotel is targeted to open in 2029. The deal pairs Hilton's global brands and distribution with Scandic's Nordic operating platform. The companies also plan new loyalty benefits for Hilton Honors and Scandic Friends members. Analysts see the financial impact as incremental. Hilton has a pipeline of 541,000 rooms, and risks remain, including weaker RevPAR in the Middle East and China.

Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Downtown unveils revitalized guestrooms in the heart of downtown Seattle. Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Downtown Oct 14, 2026, 15:00 ET Phased renovation debuts refreshed guestrooms, public hallways, and fitness center with lobby, meeting space, and additional public area upgrades to follow. SEATTLE, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ - Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Downtown has unveiled a revitalized guestroom experience, marking the latest investment in one of downtown Seattle's most conveniently located hotels. This first phase of a property-wide enhancement introduces refreshed guestrooms, public hallways and the fitness center designed to elevate comfort, style, and overall guest appeal, while setting the stage for future upgrades to the lobby, meeting space, and additional public areas. Located in downtown Seattle near the Seattle Convention Center and Amazon's campus, the 222-room hotel is using this initial phase to enhance the feature guests value most: the room itself. Updated accommodations now showcase refreshed wall coverings, new carpeting, and a more modern overall look and feel, creating a brighter, more contemporary stay experience for business travelers, convention attendees, weekend visitors, and cruise guests alike. Underscoring the hotel's commitment to responsible travel, Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Downtown is also LEED Gold-certified, offering guests a more sustainable stay experience in the heart of the city. Enhancing public hallways extends this refreshed aesthetic beyond the guestroom door, creating a more cohesive and elevated arrival-to-room journey. The renovation is designed to build momentum over time and reinforce the hotel's position as a dependable, well-located downtown Seattle stay with a renewed sense of comfort and style. "Our goal was to modernize the guest experience in a way that guests feel immediately," said Rachel Blake, general manager of Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Downtown. "The new look and feel of our guestrooms and corridors bring a fresh energy to the hotel and reflect what today's travelers want most - comfort, clean design, and a stay that feels both reliable and revitalized in the heart of Seattle." A key emphasis was placed on elevating the fitness center to state-of-the-art standards, helping the property stay attuned to travelers' evolving preferences for wellness and practical amenities. Additional renovation work will continue next year, culminating in a refreshed lobby, meeting space, and other public areas that complete the hotel's broader vision for a fully renewed guest experience. "This phased renovation strategy allows us to invest thoughtfully in the hotel while delivering meaningful improvements guests can enjoy right away," said Thorsten Purkus, Asset Management Intercontinental - Hospitality at Union Investment Real Estate GmbH. "By starting with guestrooms, hallways and the fitness center, we are enhancing the core stay experience first, while building toward a more comprehensive transformation across the property." Purkus added, "Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Downtown is a key hospitality asset in a dynamic urban market, and this continued investment reflects Union Investment's confidence in the property, its location, and its long-term potential. These upgrades enhance the hotel's competitiveness today while laying the groundwork for an even stronger asset in the years ahead." As downtown Seattle continues to attract convention demand, corporate travel, leisure visitation, and cruise-related stays, the hotel's revitalized guestroom product arrives at an important moment. The refreshed accommodations provide an immediate selling point for transient travelers, group business, and meeting planners seeking a modernized hotel near Seattle's major commercial, cultural, and entertainment anchors.
