HCLTech launches Nvidia-powered AI testing platform for software-defined vehicles

Indian tech firm HCLTech has launched an automotive software testing platform built on Nvidia simulation and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. It targets carmakers and Tier 1 suppliers. The platform, HCLTech Verification and Validation (V&V) for Auto, aims to cut delays in software-defined vehicle development caused by disconnected tools, manual testing, paper-based compliance checks, and changing safety rules. It tests code against virtual edge cases and dangerous driving conditions, reducing the time and cost of physical road and track tests. Automated software agents, built on the Nvidia Agent Toolkit and Nemotron models, handle tasks from test creation to root-cause diagnosis, and produce an auditable trail linking technical criteria to regulatory documents. HCLTech's Pankaj Tagra said the platform helps firms move "from periodic, labour-intensive testing to continuous, intelligent validation.

HCLTech launches NVIDIA-powered AI solution for virtual vehicle testing. Published: Oct 21 2026, 05:30 PM IST * FB * TW * Linkdin * Whatsapp * GNFollow Us HCLTech has launched an NVIDIA-powered AI solution for automakers to automate software testing using virtual simulations. The tool aims to reduce physical testing, improve safety checks, and accelerate software releases for modern vehicles. IT services company HCLTech on Wednesday announced the launch of an NVIDIA-powered artificial intelligence (AI) solution aimed at reducing automakers' dependence on physical vehicle testing by using virtual simulations to test software, including under rare and safety-critical driving conditions. According to a company release, the AI-powered Verification and Validation (V&V) solution is designed for automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers to automate software testing, improve safety checks and accelerate software releases. The development comes as vehicles increasingly rely on software to control various functions, while frequent software updates and changing regulatory requirements are making traditional testing processes more complex and time-consuming. Automating complex validation processes. "Automotive software is evolving faster than traditional validation processes were designed to handle. Frequent software updates, increasingly complex vehicle systems and the need to demonstrate compliance across changing configurations can make validation slow, fragmented and difficult to scale," said Pankaj Tagra, Chief Growth Officer and Global Head, Mobility at HCLTech. AI and simulation for faster, safer testing. The company said its new solution uses NVIDIA's simulation technologies and AI capabilities to create virtual testing environments, allowing automakers to test vehicle software across a wider range of scenarios, including conditions that may be difficult to recreate through physical testing. The solution also connects software requirements, test creation, execution, analysis and compliance reporting, helping manufacturers identify software failures faster and maintain records needed for regulatory compliance. "Powered by NVIDIA, HCLTech's V&V for Auto is designed to help organizations shift from periodic, labor-intensive testing to continuous, intelligent validation, using simulation and AI to make software release decisions with greater speed and confidence," Tagra added. Leveraging NVIDIA's tech stack. The offering combines HCLTech's automotive engineering capabilities with NVIDIA technologies, including Omniverse, Cosmos, Alpamayo and Nemotron AI models, to support automated testing and validation. The future of vehicle validation. NVIDIA also highlighted the growing importance of simulation as automotive manufacturers develop increasingly software-driven vehicles. "Validation now sets the pace for software-defined vehicles," said Dr Sebastian Scheurle, EMEA Industry Lead Automotive Enterprise at NVIDIA. He added that the solution would help automakers move more testing into simulation, identify safety-critical scenarios earlier and release software with greater confidence. While the solution is intended to reduce reliance on physical testing and improve software development efficiency, HCLTech has not disclosed any customer deployments, quantified cost savings or specific reductions in testing timelines in its announcement. HCLTech launches NVIDIA-powered HCLTech Verification and Validation for Auto to transform software-defined vehicle validation.

HCLTech launches NVIDIA-powered HCLTech Verification and Validation for Auto to transform software-defined vehicle validation. HCLTech today announced the launch of its AI-powered Verification and Validation (V&V) offering, powered by NVIDIA's simulation stack, agentic capabilities and open model strategy. Designed for automotive vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers, the offering combines agentic AI, physical AI-powered simulation and intelligent orchestration to help automate elements of vehicle software validation workflows and accelerate releases. As modern vehicles become increasingly software-defined, technological complexity, over-the-air updates and evolving regulatory frameworks are placing greater demands on the verification and validation processes. Automotive organizations face challenges of fragmented tool chains, manual workflows and labor-intensive compliance processes, creating a bottleneck between software development and release. As part of HCLTech's Industry AI solutions portfolio, this V&V offering for Auto leverages a simulation-first operating model that connects requirements, test creation, execution, analysis and compliance evidence across the validation lifecycle. The solution enables customers to automate validation workflows, expand scenario coverage, identify and investigate test failures faster, and maintain a continuous digital record linking requirements, test results and compliance reporting. HCLTech's V&V for Auto combines HCLTech's automotive engineering expertise, agentic AI capabilities and Validation Factory model with the NVIDIA stack, including NVIDIA Omniverse, NVIDIA Cosmos, NVIDIA Alpamayo, NVIDIA Omniverse NuRec and NVIDIA Isaac Sim, to generate and validate a wide range of scenarios in virtual environments, including rare and safety-critical conditions. This reduces reliance on physical testing, expands test coverage and improves visibility into release readiness. Leveraging the NVIDIA Agent Toolkit, this solution orchestrates multiple AI agents with reasoning powered by NVIDIA Nemotron open models across the V&V lifecycle. "Automotive software is evolving faster than traditional validation processes were designed to handle. Frequent software updates, increasingly complex vehicle systems and the need to demonstrate compliance across changing configurations can make validation slow, fragmented and difficult to scale. Powered by NVIDIA, HCLTech's V&V for Auto is designed to help organizations shift from periodic, labor-intensive testing to continuous, intelligent validation, using simulation and AI to make software release decisions with greater speed and confidence," said Pankaj Tagra, Chief Growth Officer and Global Head, Mobility at HCLTech. "Validation now sets the pace for software-defined vehicles. With NVIDIA Omniverse, Cosmos and Nemotron at its core, this solution leverages world-class simulation and AI capabilities to support automakers in their journey towards moving more testing into simulation, covering rare and safety-critical scenarios earlier and releasing software with greater confidence," said Dr. Sebastian Scheurle, EMEA Industry Lead Automotive Enterprise, at NVIDIA.

AI revenue is surging at Indian IT firms, but how much is adding to growth?

AI revenue is surging at Indian IT firms, but how much is adding to growth? TCS, HCLTech and other IT firms are reporting sharp growth in AI businesses, but modest overall revenue growth raises questions over whether AI is generating fresh demand or cannibalising traditional IT services. * Updated Oct 16, 2026 7:13 PM IST According to industry experts, the real test is not merely how quickly AI revenue is growing, but whether it is contributing to the overall growth of IT services companies. India's largest IT services companies are reporting rapid growth in artificial intelligence (AI) revenue, but the numbers raise a more fundamental question for investors: how much of this business is translating into incremental industry growth rather than replacing revenue from traditional technology services? Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which reported its September-quarter results earlier this month, said its annualised AI revenue had crossed $3.1 billion in the second quarter of FY27, up 19.2% sequentially and accounting for more than 10% of revenue. HCLTech, meanwhile, reported annualised advanced AI revenue of $876 million, up 72% year-on-year in constant currency.
