Floor Manager
About the job
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) or similar programs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- One or more of the following experience qualifications: an Associate or Bachelor's degree, especially in a retail-related field; at least one year of retail experience; or one to two years of prior supervisory experience.
- Basic math ability.
- Ability to analyze, reason, and make decisions.
- Advanced troubleshooting and multitasking skills.
- Ability to learn and retain new skills.
- Assist with overall store operations, including controlling expenses, merchandising standards, safety, security, and workforce management.
- Help drive positive customer and employee experiences while working to increase sales and profitability.
- Assist customers on the sales floor, coach employees, handle freight deliveries in a timely manner, and work with store management on assigned duties.
- Prepare the store for business and ensure all closing tasks are completed before the end of the day.
- Maintain store appearance and organized displays.
- Hold employees to standards of conduct and coach employees when necessary.
- Cultivate a customer-centric and engaged team while embodying company values.
- Keep job responsibilities and the work space organized.
- Complete duties accurately and by deadlines, often under tight time constraints.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Handle customer issues and follow problems through to resolution.
- Help manage employee schedules to ensure the store is properly staffed.
- Prior experience at retail brands such as Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Fred Meyer, Safeway, and Albertsons is an asset.
- Previous experience as a department manager, key holder, shift lead, or similar position is valued.
