About the Job

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At the end of the internship, return to school to continue education, or have the internship be the last requirement for graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical and system design and integration of Apple products, including Vision Pro, iPhone, iPad, Watch, and Mac computers.
  • Assist with engineering processes for the design, integration, implementation, testing, and qualification of electrical subsystems.
  • For Camera/Touch/Display Engineering, work on optics, flat panel hardware, and touch mechanical design; design and implement experiments validating new optical and mechanical materials; optimize performance and reliability.
  • For Wireless Technologies, perform antenna design, RF system-level validation, automated software and tool development, optimization of RF automated systems, and RF systems analysis.
  • For ASIC/VLSI, perform RTL design and implementation, verification, integration, validation, emulation, power/technology and circuits work, CAD, static timing analysis, physical design, low-power design, signal integrity, analog/mixed-signal work, and design-for-test work.
  • For System Development, perform electrical system design and integration, support system-level testing, schematic capture, and bug resolution.
  • For Audio/Acoustics/Optical, work on hardware speaker and microphone design, mechanical design and prototyping, system integration, noise and vibration, audio feature design using software and machine learning, hearing health, psychoacoustics, and user studies.
  • For Embedded Systems, develop low-level microcontroller code, prototype concepts, perform FPGA design verification, and streamline electrical design.
  • For Firmware Development, write and debug low-level firmware, drivers, protocols, and other firmware code, and develop embedded firmware solutions.
  • Contribute to Quality Engineering.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer system architecture, digital logic design and verification, digital and analog circuit analysis, and analog integrated circuits.
  • Knowledge of chip design and microarchitecture of on-chip interconnection networks.
  • Knowledge of antenna, cellular, wireless, over-the-air, radio-frequency engineering, high-speed signals, wireless communication theory, and RF circuit design.
  • Knowledge of CPU and GPU architecture.
  • Proficiency in one or more of C, C++, Python, Perl, SQL, Assembly, Mac OS X, PH, Objective-C, VHDL, Verilog RTL, or digital logic design.
  • Experience using measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience interpreting schematics and with physical design and circuit debugging via FPGA or PCBs.
  • Prior internship experience, relevant individual or group project experience, teaching assistance experience, or relevant work experience.
