TNS enhances omnichannel payments platform with next-gen Android unattended terminals.

TNS enhances omnichannel payments platform with next-gen Android unattended terminals. Transaction Network Services (TNS) has launched a significant upgrade to its payment orchestration platform, integrating next-generation Android-based unattended terminals into its global infrastructure. For fintech professionals, this move signals a shift toward unified omnichannel stacks that bridge the gap between digital routing logic and physical self-service hardware in high-stakes environments. What was announced. TNS has expanded its managed network and payment solutions by introducing a portfolio of Android-based unattended payment terminals, fully integrated with its existing orchestration platform. This development is specifically designed for self-service sectors where reliability is critical and staff presence is minimal, including electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, parking facilities, transportation hubs, vending machines, laundromats, and automated kiosks. The new terminals arrive pre-programmed with the TNS payment application. This allows operators to deploy hardware without the traditional burdens of building proprietary software, managing complex certification requirements, or handling the full weight of PCI compliance. By centralizing in-person and online acceptance, the platform enables businesses to configure payment flows based on specific business rules, such as card type, transaction amount, geography, and volume distribution. The platform's orchestration capabilities also utilize real-time performance signals. By monitoring decline rates and provider availability, the system can influence routing decisions to protect uptime and optimize transaction costs. TNS is currently engaging with early-adopter customers for this terminal range, with active certifications progressing across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. "Today's commerce demands a different standard of payment infrastructure, one that is always on, always intelligent and built for the realities of environments where every failed transaction represents lost revenue. Our omnichannel acceptance and orchestration capabilities, combined with our new Android terminal portfolio, give retailers and self-service operators the tools they need to accept more payments, reduce complexity and scale with confidence." Michael Johnson, Global Managing Director, TNS Payments Market. The companies involved. Transaction Network Services (TNS) is a global provider of managed network and payment solutions, headquartered in Reston, Virginia. The company occupies a specialized position in the market, providing the underlying connectivity and processing infrastructure that powers secure transactions across the financial, payments, and telecommunications industries. TNS operates as a critical bridge between merchants, processors, and financial institutions, focusing on reducing the friction of global commerce through managed services. The company has recently undergone significant structural changes to sharpen its focus on specific market segments. While it maintains a dominant presence in the payments space, its financial markets division has seen recent consolidation. TNS operates a global footprint, supporting a wide array of payment methods ranging from traditional credit and debit card schemes to emerging digital and alternative payment options. Its role in the market is defined by its ability to handle high-volume, mission-critical data transmission where security and low latency are paramount. What FF News has reported before. FF News has closely tracked the evolution of TNS, particularly its strategic maneuvers in the financial infrastructure space. In early 2026, we reported that TNS Completes Acquisition of BT Radianz, a move that significantly bolstered its global network reach. This was followed by the announcement that TNS' Financial Markets Business and Radianz Combine to Form Waypoint Trading Solutions, creating a powerhouse in trading connectivity. Further coverage detailed how Waypoint Trading Solutions to Expand European Exchange Connectivity with Equinix MD6 Deployment in Madrid. Additionally, we noted the company's geographic growth when TNS Expands Global Market Data Access with Connectivity to Japan Alternative Market. What this means. The integration of Android-based hardware into a sophisticated orchestration layer places significant pressure on legacy hardware providers who rely on closed, proprietary systems. As self-service environments like EV charging and automated retail explode, the industry is moving away from fragmented "siloed" payments. The real value here is not the terminal itself, but the ability to apply e-commerce-style routing logic - optimizing for cost and authorization rates - to a physical device in a parking lot or laundromat. This announcement highlights a growing market demand for "plug-and-play" PCI compliance, where the service provider absorbs the regulatory complexity, allowing the operator to focus purely on scale. The question for the sector now is whether competitors can match this level of vertical integration between network, software, and hardware. Featured speakers.

TNS earns dual platinum wins in 2026 Future Digital Awards for Telco Innovation.

TNS earns dual platinum wins in 2026 Future Digital Awards for Telco Innovation. Communications, Award, Branded Calling, Robocalls, Telecom, Trusted Communications Recognized for Best Branded Calling and Best Robocall Mitigation Solutions designed for enterprises and carriers working to strengthen trust in voice communications Transaction Network Services (TNS) has earned two platinum honors - the highest distinction - in the 2026 Future Digital Awards for Telco Innovation, recognized for both Best Branded Calling Solution and Best Robocall Mitigation Solution. The dual recognition comes at a pivotal moment for the voice ecosystem. Across North America, enterprises are seeing fewer outbound calls answered as consumers grow increasingly cautious about unknown numbers and continued spam and impersonation activity. Industry forecasts indicate that contact center answer rates are expected to continue tightening in the coming years, placing even greater importance on call authentication, transparency and communications fraud prevention. For enterprises, voice remains a mission-critical channel, used to deliver alerts, healthcare updates, payment notifications and essential customer service interactions. As fraud tactics evolve, legitimate businesses are prioritizing technologies that help ensure their calls are verified, clearly identified, and trusted by the customers they serve. TNS' platinum wins underscore its leadership in enabling trust at scale. TNS Enterprise Branded Calling enables authenticated enterprises to display verified brand information including company name and logo - directly on incoming call screens, helping customers immediately recognize legitimate calls. Complementing this, TNS Call Guardian and the TNS Enterprise Product Suite provide Communications Service Providers (CSPs) with real-time analytics, authentication and spoof protection capabilities designed to identify and mitigate fraudulent traffic before it reaches subscribers. "Winning Platinum in both categories reflects the industry's recognition that enhancing trust in voice requires a coordinated approach across CSPs and enterprises," said Seth Walton, General Manager, Communications Market at TNS. "Our focus is on helping both sides authenticate legitimate traffic, stop spoofing and ensure trusted calls get through. Enterprises depend on voice for critical customer engagement, and CSPs play a central role in protecting that channel. Together, our branded calling, authentication and robocall mitigation capabilities strengthen confidence in the voice ecosystem - supporting carriers, protecting enterprises and enabling consumers to answer with greater trust." Sam Barker, VP of Telecoms Market Research at Juniper Research added: "Solutions that combine branded calling, authentication and real-time fraud analytics are becoming increasingly important as enterprises look to protect engagement rates and safeguard customers. Recognition in the Future Digital Awards highlights vendors demonstrating measurable innovation in addressing this industry-wide challenge."

TNS on combating voice spoofing and restoring trust in Enterprise calling, podcast.

TNS on combating voice spoofing and restoring trust in Enterprise calling, podcast. By Doug Green "Businesses are experiencing a form of identity theft in voice - and they're paying the price for fraud they didn't create." At the Channel Partners Conference & Expo 2026, I spoke with Maurie Munro, Vice President of Enterprise Sales at Transaction Network Services (TNS), about one of the most urgent challenges facing the telecom ecosystem: the collapse of trust in voice. TNS operates at the intersection of enterprises, carriers, and consumers, with a communications division focused on ensuring that legitimate calls are delivered, recognized, and trusted. But as Munro explained, the reality is far more complex. Today's voice environment is shaped by widespread spoofing and fraud, where bad actors impersonate legitimate businesses by using real phone numbers without authorization. The result is what Munro describes as "identity theft in voice," where enterprises suffer reputational and operational damage from activity they didn't initiate. Consumers, in turn, have adapted. Caller ID is no longer trusted. Calls are ignored, labeled as "Spam Likely," or blocked altogether - often impacting legitimate outreach. For enterprises, that translates into declining answer rates, reduced campaign performance, and strained customer relationships. TNS brings a data-driven approach to solving this problem, processing more than 1.5 billion call events daily. This scale gives the company deep visibility into how calls are treated across networks and where breakdowns in trust occur. The company's TNS-COM business focuses on three critical areas: * Spoof protection, which helps enterprises identify when and how their numbers are being misused without their knowledge * Enterprise branded calling, which displays a verified business name and logo on the consumer's device * Telephone number reputation monitoring, providing visibility into how calls are labeled, scored, and treated across the ecosystem Together, these capabilities help enterprises protect their brand identity in voice - much like consumers monitor and protect their personal identity in financial systems. The impact is particularly acute in high-touch industries such as banking, healthcare, retail, and contact centers, where voice remains essential for critical communications like fraud alerts, appointment reminders, and service notifications. When those calls fail to connect - or worse, are mistrusted - the consequences ripple across operations, increasing costs and reducing effectiveness. Looking ahead, Munro sees branded calling evolving beyond simple identification. While displaying a business name is important, the future lies in richer context - logo, intent, and verified identity working together to rebuild trust at scale. "The goal isn't just to get the call through," Munro emphasized. "It's to ensure the person receiving it knows who it's from - and can trust it." As the industry continues to combat fraud and improve call authentication frameworks, the next phase is clear: restoring confidence in voice as a trusted channel for both businesses and consumers.
