Requirements
  • NC Early Childhood Credentials are preferred, with a minimum of one year of classroom management experience.
  • Willingness to obtain the North Carolina Early Childhood Credential within the first year of employment may be considered.
  • Ability to lift children, move quickly in emergency situations, and interact energetically with children.
  • Ability to withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, and squatting.
  • Ability to communicate with other individuals.
  • Ability to work with potential exposure to communicable diseases and blood or body fluids.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation and development of a developmentally appropriate classroom curriculum using Creative Curriculum and North Carolina Foundations for Early Education.
  • Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment to meet the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social needs of each child.
  • Provide services with consideration for the recipient's needs.
  • Assist in operating classrooms according to state and local governing agencies, center policies, and NCRLAP ITERS/ECERS guidelines.
  • Use positive guidance techniques.
  • Supervise the classroom in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
  • Provide professional, accurate, and timely communications to parents.
