- NC Early Childhood Credentials are preferred, with a minimum of one year of classroom management experience.
- Willingness to obtain the North Carolina Early Childhood Credential within the first year of employment may be considered.
- Ability to lift children, move quickly in emergency situations, and interact energetically with children.
- Ability to withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, and squatting.
- Ability to communicate with other individuals.
- Ability to work with potential exposure to communicable diseases and blood or body fluids.
- Assist in the creation and development of a developmentally appropriate classroom curriculum using Creative Curriculum and North Carolina Foundations for Early Education.
- Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment to meet the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social needs of each child.
- Provide services with consideration for the recipient's needs.
- Assist in operating classrooms according to state and local governing agencies, center policies, and NCRLAP ITERS/ECERS guidelines.
- Use positive guidance techniques.
- Supervise the classroom in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
- Provide professional, accurate, and timely communications to parents.
