Requirements
  • At least 1 year of control wiring experience.
  • High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
  • Electrical and electronic knowledge, including electrical principles and safety.
  • Ability to read and accurately apply electrical schematics.
  • Strong wiring abilities and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to identify and explain the use of common testing equipment.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper personal protective equipment donning sequence and hazard identification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, squat, crawl, and climb.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer screen and with small or detailed items.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, research, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a shop or warehouse environment with exposure to heat, cold, wet or humid conditions, noise or vibration, hazards, dust, and fumes.
Responsibilities
  • Position and connect equipment in preparation for testing.
  • Perform wire checks and visual inspections.
  • Assist Test Technicians with checkout and functional testing.
  • Complete required documentation and post it in the appropriate job record.
  • Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
  • Observe and assist with visual inspections, Hi-Pot testing, Ductor testing, and continuity testing under the supervision of a Level 2 or higher qualified person.
  • Assist with setting up safety barriers, hazard signs, personal protective equipment, and staging for energized testing.
  • Assist with schematic highlighting, documenting non-conformances, and following document control procedures.
