Requirements
  • Three to five years of customer service experience.
  • Medical Assistant certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience with an electronic health record system, computer literacy, patient scheduling, and scheduling templates.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital outpatient registration.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise administrative judgment, creatively solve problems, manage time, and organize tasks.
  • Ability to work flexible 12-hour shifts and holidays for a 24/7 service.
  • Strong analytical, listening, communication, escalation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to provide medical assistant support, including vital-sign screening.
  • Ability to obtain and verify patients’ personal, demographic, and financial information and enter it into the practice management system.
Responsibilities
  • Provide remote or in-person medical assistant support, including taking vitals, answering patient questions, and ordering bloodwork scripts for clinicians.
  • Maintain the electronic health record database and register patients.
  • Print, scan, and upload visit documents into the electronic health record, ensuring patients complete required forms.
  • Provide remote check-in and check-out and medical assistant services in the Cooper365 model.
  • Complete recertifications, referrals, and prior authorizations in a timely manner.
  • Process medical-record requests through MRO and process new-patient contracts and questions.
  • Serve as the liaison between clinicians and patients by scheduling appointments, completing check-in and check-out duties, and working in task baskets as required.
  • Assist clinicians with patient care and perform clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
  • Handle Cooper365 phone matters and provide customer service by phone, telehealth, and electronic communication.
  • Process and print incoming faxes through OnBase/fax, route them to providers for signatures or information, and upload them into the appropriate chart category.
  • Provide patients with information to help them use clinical services.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards and sustain those standards in daily operations.
  • Resolve patient and customer conflicts and independently handle complaints and escalations.
  • Develop processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee document scanning, CDL physicals, and management of medication samples.
  • Ensure paperwork supports consistent collections according to monthly, semiannual, or annual agreements.
  • Deliver timely and consistent service to patients, customers, physicians, and clinicians.
