Tech selloff wipes $1T off Nasdaq 100 as Intel plunges 30% on AI spending fears

The Nasdaq 100 dropped roughly 4%, wiping out more than $1 trillion in value, while the S&P 500 fell more than 2% on Friday afternoon. Intel's stock plunged more than 30% to roughly $62 after it gave a weak fourth-quarter outlook. ServiceNow fell 27% on Thursday after weaker-than-expected third-quarter results. Amazon, Alphabet and Meta also dropped after earnings; Amazon reported negative free cash flow of $42 billion. S&P 500 earnings growth has slipped to roughly 26% from 32% in the second quarter. ServiceNow shares drop nearly 20% on slower cRPO guidance as investors face securities investigation

ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) shares opened down more than $29 on October 29, 2026, after the company guided to slower fourth-quarter current remaining performance obligation (cRPO) growth. Law firm Levi & Korsinsky, through its SueWallSt service, said it is investigating potential securities law violations. ServiceNow expects cRPO growth of about 18.5%, down from 21% in the third quarter. Subscription revenue reached $3.988 billion, up 20.5% in constant currency. The stock fell about 19.5% before market open, to roughly $120.90, and dropped more than 25% in midday trading. The company also raised its 2026 AI annual contract value target to "$1.7 billion plus by year-end." In May, it lifted the target from $1 billion to $1.5 billion. The investigation examines whether ServiceNow made misleading statements about its growth outlook.
