About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, database fundamentals, API design, testing, and clean, maintainable code.
  • Front-end and back-end experience, including shipping multiple features across the full application stack from ideation to production use by real customers.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on professional software engineering experience building, shipping, and operating production-quality, reliable systems.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and Node.js, plus working comfort in React.
  • Experience with a statically typed, compiled language other than TypeScript, such as Rust, Go, Java, C#, or C++.
  • Demonstrated depth in automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers, including hands-on experience with a browser or end-to-end framework such as Playwright or Cypress, and experience building test coverage relied on by a team.
  • Hands-on CI ownership, including creating, configuring, fine-tuning, or troubleshooting a CI pipeline such as GitHub Actions or an equivalent.
  • Experience creating software using disciplined agentic flows, from prompt-instructing to complete development orchestrations.
  • A scrutinizing, questioning mindset that does not accept output from oneself or an agent at face value and surfaces problems early.
  • A habit of supporting colleagues through pairing, thorough reviews, and documenting practices so they persist beyond a single project.
  • Familiarity with cloud service design patterns and modern software architecture.
  • Experience working in an international team whose common working language is English, collaborating day to day with teammates in other countries.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, at approximately C1 level, with the ability to work entirely in English on a distributed team, explain complex technical ideas clearly, and write documentation and code reviews.
Responsibilities
  • Build and continually improve an agentic development workflow and help improve the team's workflow, using AI across product requirement documents, technical specifications, epics, tickets, development plans, code, and unit and integration tests.
  • Drive quality through disciplined verification and agentic and human code review of one's own code and teammates' code; extend agentic review tooling and maintain standards for merged code.
  • Apply agentic workflows to both greenfield and legacy code.
  • Own and improve quality automation, including CI pipelines, checks, and gates, so standards are enforced by the system.
  • Improve the team's testing practice by pairing on test design, extending automated coverage during development, and making hard-to-reach code testable.
  • Design and implement high-quality, scalable software in TypeScript and Node.js, with opportunities to work in Rust, writing code alongside its validating tests.
  • Own features end to end, from understanding requirements through design, ticketing, implementation, testing, validation, shipping, and production support.
  • Refactor and simplify code to improve clarity, maintainability, and long-term system health.
  • Develop and refine APIs, webhooks, and other integration surfaces.
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum cadence by providing reliable estimates, communicating proactively and clearly, and following through on commitments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including participating in the on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate with product and cross-functional partners to prioritize features and bug fixes.
  • Contribute to agentic workflows, orchestration, and tooling, and stay current as models and tools evolve.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development.
  • Deeper specialization in React front-end development, such as design systems, accessibility, or performance work.
  • Experience managing test data and environments to bring a realistic system into a known state quickly and repeatably.
  • Familiarity with AWS and cloud-native services, microservices, and containerization.
  • Proficiency with NoSQL and other modern data-storage technologies.
