About the Company

Atlanta Community Food Bank

Distributes food to 600 partner programs

Atlanta Community Food Bank moves food to people in need by distributing more than 60 million pounds of food and groceries each year to 600 nonprofit partner feeding programs across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. These partners include after-school programs, senior centers, shelters, community kitchens and food pantries. More than 15,000 volunteers help collect, sort and deliver the food, making local hunger relief possible. How it works: the bank sources food from donors and suppliers, stores it in its facilities, and coordinates with partner programs to distribute it to clients, with volunteers playing a central role in operations. How it differs from competitors: it operates a large regional network focused on Atlanta and north Georgia, relying on thousands of volunteers and a broad set of partner organizations rather than a single storefront or national model. Its goal: to feed people in need, reduce hunger in the region, and mobilize the community to help.
