Requirements

A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

Prepare admixtures of medications to intravenous solutions.
Prepare unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications, and compound solutions and medications used in critical care and operating room satellite areas.
Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
Follow standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.
Work with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practices.
Perform Pharmacy Technician duties as needed.

Desired Qualifications

Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures is preferred.
PTCB certification is preferred.

Overview

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
