About the job

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience with 5–8 years in project logistics, heavy-lift transportation, or capital-project logistics, including planning out-of-gauge or heavy movements and coordinating the teams required to deliver them.
  • Experience managing project plans, reviews, and escalations in support of a procurement or supply chain team.
  • Ability to influence project stakeholders, logistics suppliers, and supply chain managers without direct authority, and to present schedule risk and recovery options to Director-level stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of out-of-gauge and heavy-cargo planning, including dimensions, weight, route constraints, equipment selection, and site access.
  • Ability to build and maintain a project plan for purchased logistics services and confirm execution remains aligned to that plan.
  • Familiarity with permits, escorts, lifting and securement considerations, and special-handling instructions for project cargo.
  • Ability to run plan reviews, manage escalations, and track actions across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Precise written communication, follow-through, and judgment to escalate before a missed window becomes an installation delay.
  • Command of project planning, plan reviews, escalation management, statements of work, and service levels.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30–40% to project sites, cargo origins, and supplier locations.
  • Must be based in Fremont, California.
Responsibilities
  • Develop transport plans for large-scale and capital programs by defining movement method, equipment, handling constraints, and site-delivery conditions; assess dimensions, weight, lifting points, route constraints, and site access for out-of-gauge and heavy cargo; confirm feasibility with logistics suppliers and project teams; identify movements that cannot proceed on a standard plan and recommend required equipment, permits, or schedule changes.
  • Act as project manager for assigned major logistics projects by establishing scope, milestones, owners, and an integrated plan for project, procurement, and supplier teams, and confirm activities proceed as planned.
  • Enable logistics services purchased by supply chain managers by confirming awarded scope, statements of work, and service levels are understood by delivery teams and mobilization aligns with the project plan.
  • Partner with Global Supply Managers and logistics supply chain managers so project requirements are reflected in statements of work, service levels, and awarded capacity; provide execution feedback for supplier management.
  • Conduct regular plan reviews with project teams, logistics suppliers, and responsible supply chain managers to compare progress with the approved plan, identify variances, and record decisions and actions.
  • Own logistics escalations on assigned projects and drive issues to resolution across project, site, supplier, and procurement teams; engage the responsible supply chain manager when a commercial decision or supplier action beyond awarded scope is required.
  • Coordinate parties to restore at-risk movements or services by addressing permit, equipment, site-readiness, or supplier-performance constraints, and close issues with an agreed action, owner, and date to protect installation windows.
  • Coordinate project, construction, site, procurement, and supplier teams to align requirements, timing, and decisions, including confirming origin readiness at equipment suppliers and integration sites and delivery readiness at the project site.
  • Maintain transport plans, feasibility findings, plan-review records, milestone logs, and escalation reports.
  • Coach project partners and analysts on the information needed to enable a purchased service and how to interpret a project plan; serve as the day-to-day coordination point when a project is off plan.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Excel experience and experience with a project-control tool or equivalent planning system are a plus.

About the company

Tesla makes electric cars and batteries that store power for homes and utilities, and it develops self-driving software and humanoid robots. In 2023, its Model Y became the first electric vehicle to rank as the world's best-selling car. Buyers order the Model 3 sedan, Model Y SUV, or Cybertruck pickup directly from Tesla instead of through dealers, and they charge on its Supercharger fast-charging network. It also sells Megapack and Powerwall batteries, runs a robotaxi service, and charges drivers a monthly fee for self-driving software that still needs their supervision. Tesla was founded in 2003, with Elon Musk as its lead early investor and a recognized co-founder, and it is based in Austin, Texas.

Tariffs, diesel and chips add about $2B in costs each for GM and Ford this year

General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis reported higher revenue this quarter, driven by sales of big cars and trucks. But rising costs for steel, copper, computer chips, and diesel are squeezing them. GM and Ford each expect these costs, which some companies label "commodity and logistics," to add about $2 billion this year. Analysts say the term largely stands in for tariffs and inflation. EV sales have fallen since the federal tax credit ended, though GM says it is not giving up on them. Hybrid sales are up almost 27%, according to Edmunds. Meanwhile, Exxon doubled its earnings and Chevron's rose 180%, as wars in Iran and Ukraine disrupted oil supply.

Tesla $1,000 stake could be worth $1,182 by 2030 in base case, model says

A $1,000 investment in Tesla could be worth about $1,182.08 by 2030, an 18.21% return, according to a 24/7 Wall St model. Its bull case reaches $1,513.49, while the bear case lands at $999.35. Over five years, to October 22, 2031, the base case is $1,269.40, or 4.89% a year. The one-year target is $404.84, 4.75% above the $383.33 trading price, which earns a hold rating. The model points to three growth drivers: more than 1.7 million paid Full Self-Driving customers, Robotaxi expansion to Dallas, and energy storage demand. Energy gross margin rose from 20.4% to 33.1%. Risks include a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of 402. Operating income fell 55.79% and free cash flow dropped 61.63%. Shares are down 14.76% this year.

Tariffs, chips and diesel add $2B in costs for Ford and GM despite strong truck sales

US automakers reported higher third-quarter revenue, but say costs are climbing. Steel, copper, computer chips and diesel have all become pricier, partly because of tariffs the Trump administration has imposed since 2025. General Motors expects materials and diesel to cost it as much as $2 billion this year, and it still pays about $2.5 billion in tariffs. Ford expects a year-over-year headwind of about $2 billion from commodities, memory chips and logistics. Stellantis will give more detail in the fourth quarter. Demand remains firm. GM's light-duty truck sales rose 9%, and Stellantis' US pickup sales rose 34%. The average new vehicle price was just over $50,000 in September. Electric vehicle sales fell after the $7,500 federal tax credit ended, while hybrid sales rose 27%.
