First Financial Bankshares Q3 profit jumps 42% to a record $74.31M

First Financial Bankshares reported third-quarter 2026 earnings of $74.31 million, up from $52.27 million a year earlier and $71.89 million in the previous quarter. Diluted earnings per share were $0.52, compared with $0.36 a year ago. Net interest income rose to $138.51 million from $127.00 million, and the net interest margin reached 3.91%, up from 3.80%. The provision for credit losses fell to $2.03 million from $24.44 million, which a large fraud-related loan charge-off had driven up a year earlier. Loans grew to $8.54 billion, and total assets were $15.16 billion. Shareholders' equity fell to $1.83 billion from $2.00 billion in June, mainly because of larger unrealised securities losses. The Texas bank will open its first full-service Austin-market branch, in Bee Cave, later this month.
