  • A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field is required.
  • Knowledge of effective instructional strategies for adult learners is required.
  • Proficiency with computers, the internet, email, and word processing software is required.
  • The ability to work independently, communicate effectively, manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and interact effectively with diverse cultures and ethnicities is required.
  • The ability to maintain professionalism and understanding in stressful situations and to motivate and encourage students is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in adult basic education, GED preparation, and English for speakers of other languages.
  • Design instruction that supports diverse learning styles, language proficiencies, and academic needs.
  • Integrate workforce preparation, digital literacy, and college readiness skills into classroom instruction.
  • Use instructional technology and digital resources to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate student attendance records in accordance with program requirements.
  • Collaborate with program staff, Student Services, and community partners to support student achievement and transitions.
  • Participate in professional development, curriculum development, and weekly instructor touchpoints.

  • Teaching and/or training experience is preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of microcomputers is preferred.
