Requirements
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience, ideally in a food service or restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitization procedures in accordance with health code regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, climb, and twist for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate janitorial tools and equipment safely.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments, including kitchen areas and walk-in refrigerators.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals and restaurant waste.
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of all kitchen workstations, including the grill, sauté, fryer, flat top, prep tables, and dishwashing stations.
  • Clean and sanitize bar and coffee station areas.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all equipment and report issues promptly.
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop all floor surfaces in the kitchen, dining room, and restrooms.
  • Disinfect restrooms and ensure they are fully stocked and odor-free.
  • Clean and polish overhead lighting fixtures, furniture, and dining surfaces.
  • Sanitize refrigeration units, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
  • Degrease all workstations in the back of the house.
  • Remove trash and recycling from all areas and dispose of waste according to health and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed.
  • Move, lift, and reposition kitchen equipment, prep tables, furniture, and appliances to clean underneath and behind them.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation protocols according to local health department standards and company policies.
  • Notify management of safety issues, necessary repairs, maintenance concerns, and other safety issues.
