About the job
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- SPICE certification within 90 to 180 days from the hire date.
- Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients.
- Ability to access all areas of the facility, communicate clearly and concisely, maintain visual acuity, and withstand extended periods of walking and standing with occasional lifting, bending, and stooping.
- Obtain vital signs and general health information for patient charts and prepare patients for examination.
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures as needed.
- Assist with collecting laboratory specimens and performing tests as ordered, or arrange patient testing, admissions, and referrals.
- Enter and record patient information in charts concisely and accurately.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure patient records are managed according to HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
- Work with Health Information Management on timely release-of-information requests.
- Plan services using an appropriate problem-solving approach and provide services according to recipients' needs.
- Use appropriate safety and infection-control measures.
- Teach, direct, advise, and inform others appropriately.
- Report and record information appropriately.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope and standards of practice.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a clinic setting.
- Age-specific skills.
- Ability to work accurately and quickly, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and respond calmly and effectively in an emergency.
- Knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology standards of care.
