Responsibilities
  • Leverage Apple New Product Process expertise to align business operations activities with product program milestones, phase gates, and cross-functional deliverables.
  • Drive test management, allocations, and samples workflows, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely fulfillment across programs.
  • Lead and drive budget and finance operations, including quarterly and annual planning, reconciliations, and variance reporting, in partnership with Finance.
  • Contribute to product roadmap management, tracking key initiatives and ensuring alignment across stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate meeting oversight by driving agendas, capturing decisions and action items, and ensuring follow-through for key operational forums.
  • Lead or support Engineering Services resource planning, aligning headcount and contractor needs with program demands.
  • Partner on factory Indirect Labor planning, ensuring staffing models reflect production ramp timelines and organizational priorities.
  • Drive tools, data, and systems initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation, improving data quality, and championing scalable solutions.
  • Own or support environmental compliance claims reporting leadership, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across programs in line with corporate commitments.
  • Manage samples and allocations processes end-to-end, coordinating across engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
  • Identify and champion artificial intelligence and machine learning-driven opportunities to automate repetitive operational workflows, improve data quality, and accelerate decision-making across business operations functions.
  • Evaluate and integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning tools and platforms to enhance reporting, forecasting, and compliance monitoring capabilities.
  • Partner with stakeholder teams to define requirements for intelligent automation solutions that scale across Product Analysis and Compliance Engineering.
Desired Qualifications
  • A postgraduate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business operations, program management, or a related function within a hardware product development environment is preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory processes and compliance management in a hardware product context is preferred.
  • Executive presence, including comfort presenting to and influencing vice president-level and above stakeholders, is preferred.
  • Cross-functional leadership experience and the ability to drive alignment and outcomes without direct authority across engineering, operations, finance, and supply chain organizations are preferred.
  • A background in process improvement methodologies or operational excellence frameworks is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience deploying or managing artificial intelligence and machine learning-powered tools in an operations or compliance context, such as automated triage, anomaly detection, or natural language processing for reporting, is preferred.
  • A track record of driving organizational adoption of new technologies, including change management and stakeholder education, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Apple's internal tools and systems for program tracking, resource management, and data analytics is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts and practical experience applying them to business operations, including automation, predictive analytics, or intelligent tooling, is preferred.
  • The ability to translate emerging artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities into actionable operational improvements and articulate their value to technical and non-technical stakeholders is preferred.

Qualcomm's Apple patent renewal secures $1.28B licensing revenue despite modem shift

Qualcomm has renewed its global patent licensing agreement with Apple, effective from 1 April 2027. Despite Apple developing its own modems and reducing chip purchases from Qualcomm, the iPhone maker will continue paying royalties to use Qualcomm's wireless technology patents. Qualcomm's licensing unit generated $1.28 billion last quarter at a 69% margin. The company's automotive revenue reached $1.59 billion, up 61%, marking its 23rd consecutive quarter of double-digit growth. Management expects non-handset growth to accelerate from 24% in fiscal 2026 to over 60% in fiscal 2027. Qualcomm shares trade at 15.34 times free cash flow, compared to Broadcom's approximate 43 times multiple. The company generated $12.82 billion in free cash flow in fiscal 2025 and returned $12.60 billion to shareholders. However, handset revenue fell 20% to $5.09 billion, with Android revenue expected to decline 20% this year.

Apple CEO Ternus eyes faster product releases and management cuts

Apple CEO John Ternus is exploring a faster, more flexible product strategy, potentially moving away from the company's traditional spring and autumn release schedule, Bloomberg reported. The chief executive, who succeeded Tim Cook earlier this month, is also considering reducing management layers to enable direct interaction between engineers and senior leaders. Meta's AI agent Muse threatens Apple's ecosystem as BofA warns of user intent interception risk

Bank of America has identified a new competitive threat to Apple from Meta Platforms' AI agent, Muse. The analyst warns that AI agents like Muse could intercept iPhone users' intent before Apple's own software, potentially undermining discovery, referral, and transaction economics within Apple's ecosystem. Muse has reached the top of Apple's App Store with at least 2.5 million downloads in its first weeks.
