Requirements
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience is required, ideally including neurosurgery, trauma, other surgical subspecialties, or neuro intensive care.
  • A Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.
  • An active New Jersey license is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • A Nurse Practitioner must be acute care.
  • The position requires availability for per-diem weekday or weekend shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
  • Manage neurosurgical patients at Inspira Mullica Hill and Inspira Vineland as part of the inpatient neurosurgery service.
  • Conduct independent rounds in the intensive care unit, stepdown unit, and floor.
  • Triage emergency department patients and inpatient issues.
  • Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations.
  • Round on patients and perform basic image review to determine surgical emergencies.
  • Provide patient and family education.
  • Manage and remove drains.
Desired Qualifications
  • First-assist experience in the operating room.
  • Registered Nurse First Assistant certification for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Short onboarding and training are available.
