About the job
- At least 2 years of relevant experience is required, ideally including neurosurgery, trauma, other surgical subspecialties, or neuro intensive care.
- A Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.
- An active New Jersey license is required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.
- A Nurse Practitioner must be acute care.
- The position requires availability for per-diem weekday or weekend shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Manage neurosurgical patients at Inspira Mullica Hill and Inspira Vineland as part of the inpatient neurosurgery service.
- Conduct independent rounds in the intensive care unit, stepdown unit, and floor.
- Triage emergency department patients and inpatient issues.
- Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations.
- Round on patients and perform basic image review to determine surgical emergencies.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Manage and remove drains.
- First-assist experience in the operating room.
- Registered Nurse First Assistant certification for Nurse Practitioners.
- Short onboarding and training are available.
