  • Demonstrates clear and concise verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have knowledge of sterilization principles.
  • Must be able to perform several tasks in an organized manner.
  • Ability to learn and retain basic knowledge of inventory systems, surgical equipment, and supplies.
  • Illustrates computer skills within the service provided.
  • Must be able to access the entire facility, lift up to 40 pounds, and transport supplies, instruments, and equipment as needed.
  • Demonstrates manual dexterity, hearing acuity, and verbal ability.
  • Displays capability to stand for long periods of time and walk, lift, bend, and stoop for most of the workday.
  • Has sufficient endurance to perform tasks over an extended period of time.
  • The environment involves potential exposure to blood and body fluids, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and shift rotations as needed.
  • Completion of high school or its equivalent.
Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory, stock locations, and pick needed supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Participate in creating a safety culture by optimizing safety.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment and handle frustration and stress appropriately.
  • Use effective organizational skills to prioritize work.
  • Provide critical services during inclement weather and disasters.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year's experience in a supply or hospital environment with medical or surgical supplies.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course.
