Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct patient care experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sleep or sleep medicine is required for candidates who wish to start within one month.
  • Applicants without prior sleep experience must enroll in and complete the paid, 4-week Dreem Health Academy training course before beginning work with patients.
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A California Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license and one or more additional state licenses are required.
  • An active California Furnishing license and an active Drug Enforcement Administration license, or eligibility for a Drug Enforcement Administration license, are required.
  • Candidates must provide comprehensive patient-focused care, communicate effectively with patients, providers, and internal teams, apply critical thinking, prioritize and manage time effectively, and adapt to changing circumstances and requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive sleep medicine care via telemedicine.
  • Thoroughly document patient interactions using the customized electronic health record.
  • Apply appropriate billing procedures.
  • Participate in quality control and improvement activities.
  • Return patient messages and calls in a timely fashion.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
  • Stay current with and follow American Academy of Sleep Medicine guidelines and clinic medical protocols in clinical care and decisions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Multistate licensure including one or more of Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Virginia.
  • Additional state licenses.

Sunrise Group appoints sleep and obesity experts to US medical board following $29M funding

Sunrise Group, a medical device and sleep care company, has established a US Medical Advisory Board to advance diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related disorders. The inaugural appointees are Dr Atul Malhotra from UC San Diego and Dr Diana Thiara from UC San Francisco. The board will guide clinical strategy and product development, focusing on obstructive sleep apnoea, which remains underdiagnosed in over 80% of cases. Dr Malhotra recently led Eli Lilly's SURMOUNT-OSA trial on tirzepatide, whilst Dr Thiara specialises in obesity medicine, addressing the connection between obesity and sleep apnoea. The announcement follows Sunrise's $29 million funding round. The company's digital sleep clinic, Dreem Health, is expanding nationwide across all 50 US states.

Sunrise has acquired Dreem Health, a California-based sleep clinic, to expand its sleep disorder diagnostics in the US.
