About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of meaningful cyber experience, with credibility as a genuine cybersecurity expert able to decompose cyber mission problems from first principles.
  • Demonstrated commercial ownership, including personally sourcing and scoping complex engagements of roughly $10 million or more and explaining the outcomes, pricing and staffing assumptions, risks, and trade-offs.
  • A track record of translating an ambitious mission outcome into a delivery plan covering staffing profiles, technology and data requirements, operating processes, decision rights, key performance indicators, and a practical launch.
  • Repeatedly creating consequential companies, products, practices, programs, or teams and navigating institutional complexity to achieve ambitious outcomes.
  • Fluency in both private- and public-sector environments, including meaningful experience selling to or operating within the U.S. government.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to understand TRM’s technology and data, match capabilities to customer needs, pressure-test proposed solutions, and collaborate with Product, Data, AI, and Engineering teams; deep engineering expertise is not required.
  • Ability to communicate offerings clearly to executives and operators, differentiate them, and write customer-facing materials and original thought leadership.
  • Ability to influence without authority, challenge senior leaders constructively, change perspective when evidence changes, and prioritize the mission over personal credit.
  • AI fluency, including using AI to research, synthesize, analyze, prototype, prepare proposals and customer materials, with strong human quality control.
  • Federal contracting familiarity is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort discussing national cyber policy with policymakers, pressure-testing strategy with CISOs, and working with analysts on intelligence packages.
  • Experience owning large, complex deals end to end and explaining the commercial trade-offs and assumptions made.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities, ambiguity, urgency, ownership, and frequent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

  • Identify consequential cybercrime and cyber-resilience challenges facing public- and private-sector leaders, develop first-principles perspectives on solutions, publish regular cyber thought leadership, and represent TRM with operators, executives, policymakers, and industry leaders.
  • Find organizations facing high-priority cyber missions, build relationships with buyers who have the authority, budget, and urgency to act, qualify opportunities, and hand formal commercial ownership to the appropriate account executive.
  • Work with customers to define mission outcomes, final scope, and delivery models; distinguish what existing technology can deliver from what requires custom product, data, or AI; and ensure commitments are operationally credible.
  • Architect commercial approaches using firm-fixed-price, time-and-materials, milestone, performance-based, and hybrid models, accounting for delivery risk, staffing assumptions, and scope boundaries.
  • When needed, lead engagements from award through initial operation by assembling teams, establishing operating rhythms, defining KPIs tied to mission outcomes, and installing a permanent operational leader before transitioning to an executive steering role.
  • Develop repeatable scoping, pricing, proposal, staffing, and launch models from engagements; recruit critical talent; influence TRM’s product, data, and AI roadmaps; and build enduring capabilities.
  • Build and lead TRM’s cyber mission practice and help found the Mission Delivery organization.
  • Own outcomes in combating and disrupting cybercrime, including helping customers understand high-harm threats, attributing threat actors and infrastructure, translating intelligence into operational action, enabling disruption, and building lasting capability to reduce cyber-enabled harm.
  • Design programs to improve cyber resilience for national governments, state and local jurisdictions, critical-infrastructure sectors, and private-sector organizations.
  • Set and run a disciplined operating cadence with clear owners, written communication, KPI tracking, and fast escalation without becoming the bottleneck.
  • Partner directly and frequently with the CEO on important missions and work through a cross-functional matrix of analysts, data scientists, engineers, applied-AI specialists, lawyers, and former operators.
  • Travel roughly three to four weeks per quarter for customer, conference, partner, and TRM events; travel is primarily domestic with meaningful international travel.
  • Manage surge intensity during major launches and time-sensitive opportunities while maintaining a steadier practice-building cadence between them.

Desired Qualifications

  • Federal contracting familiarity.
