- A valid North Carolina registered nurse license or a compact-state registered nurse license is required.
- Experience is required.
- Employees who begin employment in a position requiring a registered nurse must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree within five years of their employment date.
- Nurses administering chemotherapy must obtain certification through the Oncology Nursing Society.
- Provide holistic, specialized nursing care to oncology patients and their families using a multidisciplinary approach.
- Care for patients with cancer and cancer-related complications, including patients with new or active cancer diagnoses, a history of cancer, and those receiving end-of-life care.
- Administer chemotherapy after obtaining the required Oncology Nursing Society certification.
