Responsibilities
  • Teach Robotics, Engineering Design, Computer Programming, and Coding courses to middle and/or high school students.
  • Design engaging project-based learning experiences aligned to New York State Education Department Career and Technical Education standards.
  • Teach programming using Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, Blockly, and Scratch.
  • Teach robotics platforms including LEGO Education SPIKE Prime, VEX Robotics, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Micro:bit, and drone programming platforms.
  • Introduce students to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning fundamentals, Automation, the Internet of Things, sensors and embedded systems, and computer vision.
  • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications when applicable.
  • Develop interdisciplinary STEM lessons integrating mathematics, engineering, science, and technology.
  • Maintain a modern robotics laboratory, including equipment inventory and safety procedures.
  • Use data-driven instruction to monitor student achievement.
  • Differentiate instruction for diverse learner needs, including students with Individualized Education Programs and English Language Learners.
  • Collaborate with Career and Technical Education administrators and academic teachers to integrate cross-curricular learning.
  • Participate in curriculum development aligned with New York State Education Department Career and Technical Education requirements.
  • Assist students in developing digital portfolios and capstone projects.
  • Support work-based learning experiences, internships, competitions, and career exploration.
  • Coach and supervise robotics teams participating in local, state, and national competitions, including FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Robotics, and VEX Robotics.
  • Establish partnerships with colleges, universities, and technology industry leaders.
  • Maintain instructional documentation, including lesson plans, assessments, and student performance records.
  • Participate in professional learning communities, faculty meetings, and school initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive, innovative classroom culture that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
