About the job

Requirements
  • 10+ years in marketing strategy and operations, business operations, strategic finance, management consulting, or a similar role supporting a CMO, GM, or business unit leader.
  • Experience owning a sizable marketing or departmental budget end to end, including spend, forecasting, and variance.
  • Experience building or running an annual or half-year planning cycle, including OKRs, and an operating cadence for a leadership team.
  • Experience drafting board or executive materials for a senior leader and distinguishing a readout from a narrative.
  • Experience with headcount planning and hiring operations alongside a Talent team.
  • Experience running vendor evaluations and procurement alongside Finance and managing contracts and renewals.
  • Comfort working as an individual contributor as the first operations hire, doing the work before having a team.
  • Ability to scope work lightly, move quickly, and build only the process needed to keep a fast-moving team aligned.
Responsibilities
  • Own the marketing budget end to end with Finance, including allocation across teams and channels, tracking against plan, forecasting, variance flags, and related tradeoff discussions.
  • Build leadership visibility into spend by team, channel, and program using existing spend-tracking tools.
  • Run quarterly, half-year, and annual budget planning, and present marketing's case to Finance and the executive team.
  • Own marketing vendor and agency contracts end to end, including evaluations, procurement, renewals, and visibility into costs and rationale.
  • Own marketing's planning cycle by translating company goals into marketing objectives, OKRs, and resourced plans, and keeping them current as priorities change.
  • Pressure-test plans, frame tradeoffs, and help the CMO decide where marketing places its bets.
  • Design lightweight processes and internal tools for planning, intake, and reporting to support the 25-person team.
  • Run the marketing leadership team's operating rhythm, including meetings, all-hands, team-wide readouts, agendas, decisions, and follow-through.
  • Keep marketing functions connected so plans, launches, and budgets move together.
  • Partner with the CMO on board materials, executive readouts, and strategy documents; own first drafts and ensure they are data-backed and on-message.
  • Extend the CMO's reach across the team by surfacing risks, driving decisions to closure, and keeping weekly priorities clear.
  • Represent marketing in cross-functional planning with Finance, Sales, and Product.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and marketing leads on headcount planning, requisition tracking, and the interview process, aligning hiring plans with budget and org design.
  • Standardize job descriptions, interview loops, and scorecards across sub-teams, and help new leaders onboard successfully.
Desired Qualifications
  • Comfort building tools using AI.

About the company

Replit runs a browser-based platform where people build software by describing it in plain English, and its AI agent handles every step from writing the code to putting the finished app online. After launching Replit Agent in 2024, it became one of the best-known names in vibe coding, the practice of building software from plain-language prompts. Users chat with the agent from a browser or phone as it plans, writes, and tests each change, then publish websites and mobile apps with built-in databases on Replit's own hosting. Individuals pay monthly subscriptions that include AI usage credits, and companies buy enterprise plans with added security controls. Replit was founded in 2016 and is based in Foster City, California.

What believers are saying

  • Equity has tripled in value: Replit's valuation jumped from $3 billion in September 2025 to $9 billion in March 2026.
  • Hiring is accelerating: opening London in September 2026, Replit said it expects to double headcount within a year.
  • Sales cover AI costs: Replit's revenue had exceeded direct costs, including AI models, for over a year by May 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Its closest rival is worth more: Swedish startup Lovable hit $13.3 billion in August 2026, versus Replit's $9 billion.
  • Expect crunch weeks: Replit says engineers often work up to 16 hours a day in sprints before big launches.
  • A key supplier competes: Claude maker Anthropic's own coding agent reached an estimated $2.5 billion yearly revenue by early 2026.

What makes Replit unique

  • Security is its enterprise edge: each deployed app runs in its own isolated Google Cloud project with a private database.
  • Engineers manage AI agents: per-person code output nearly tripled from January to June 2026 as Replit doubled its engineering team.
  • Its corporate reach tops rival Lovable's: Replit had users at 85% of the Fortune 500 in September 2026, versus two-thirds.

Replit expands government business and hires ex-AWS executive Michael Greenwald for corporate affairs

Replit, the software creation platform, is expanding its government business worldwide and has hired Michael Greenwald, a former US Treasury diplomat and Amazon Web Services executive, as president of corporate affairs. Replit says government agencies at national, state, and local levels in the US and overseas, including the Middle East, are adopting its platform. Once a single department in a company uses Replit, the company's business with it doubles within six months and grows to 400% over 12 months. Greenwald spent nearly a decade at the US Treasury and was its first attaché to Qatar and Kuwait. At AWS, he was director of global executive relations. In Jordan, the Ministry of Education used Replit to build an AI learning assistant that reaches 1.3 million users across 5,800 schools. Replit also opened its first international office, in London, last month.

Replit drops Anthropic for OpenAI over cost and performance, CEO says

Replit is no longer working with Anthropic, chief executive officer and co-founder Amjad Masad said Thursday at TechCrunch Disrupt. He cited cost, partnership and performance. "I think ChatGPT is better now," Masad said, adding that Replit's internal and public benchmarks show Sol and Astra build vibe-coded applications from scratch more effectively. Replit announced a partnership with OpenAI in August. An unnamed person familiar with the matter said the Anthropic partnership was still in place. A September blog post cited Anthropic's Claude models as running in Replit Agent's production environment. Masad said enterprise contracts made up about 15% of revenue this year, up from 2% last year. More than 50% of revenue is B2B.

Replit acquires Atta to bring AI business analysis in-app

Replit has acquired AI analytics startup Atta to enable users to perform business analysis and charting directly within its chat interface without writing SQL. The deal, announced on 25 September, brings Atta's data visualisation technology into Replit's platform. Co-founders Omar Shaik and Amine Ben Khalifa have joined the company. Financial terms were not disclosed. The integration is live through Replit Agent, allowing users to upload datasets, ask questions in plain language, and receive interactive charts. The system automatically handles analysis and selects appropriate visualisations based on queries. This expands Replit's capabilities beyond software development into business data analysis, aiming to reduce reliance on specialist analytics workflows and streamline decision-making for lean teams.

US AI coding startup Replit to hire 100 staff in London, mocks Silicon Valley 'monoculture

US AI coding startup Replit has opened its first overseas office in London, with plans to grow its team from 20 to around 100 staff by early next year. The San Francisco-based company joins other US tech firms expanding in London's King's Cross, including OpenAI and Anthropic. CEO Amjad Masad praised London's diversity compared to Silicon Valley's "monoculture", noting the capital offers exposure to artists, finance professionals and filmmakers alongside tech workers. London mayor Sadiq Khan attended the launch event. Replit specialises in AI-assisted coding tools and claims over 60 million users globally, including clients at 85 per cent of Fortune 500 companies. The firm raised $400 million in March at a $9 billion valuation, with backers including Databricks Ventures and Y Combinator.
