About the company

Coupang runs one of South Korea's largest online stores, selling groceries, electronics, household goods and fashion to consumers and small businesses. Shoppers order through the Coupang app or website, and the company earns money from its own retail sales, commissions and fulfillment fees from outside sellers, and a paid membership. Booking vs Coupang: analyst favours discounted Coupang at 0.7x sales over Booking's $28B revenue

A Motley Fool analyst says Coupang is the better buy than Booking this November, citing its low valuation and a growth dip he sees as temporary. Coupang, South Korea's leading e-commerce provider, had trailing 12-month revenue of nearly $35 billion, up about 10%. It posted a net loss of $767 million and free cash flow of roughly $84 million. It trades at 0.7x sales, and analysts expect earnings to rebound as it laps a late 2025 data breach. Booking had revenue of nearly $28 billion, up about 13%, with net income of roughly $7 billion. It trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 14.6x, against 43.5x for Coupang. Booking faces competition from AI-driven booking tools.

Coupang delivery upgraded again! Four innovative flexible logistics models: fast replenishment without stockpiling

Coupang delivery upgraded again! Four innovative flexible logistics models: fast replenishment without stockpiling * 2026.10.28 * 17:22 * China Times real-time, Gu Minghong U.S.-based Coupang continues to optimize logistics technology and delivery processes, providing stable and reliable services while balancing delivery efficiency and quality. As delivery capacity across Taiwan continues to improve, Coupang has launched "flexible arrival dates," "flexible delivery locations," and "flexible return arrangements" features, and can deliver seven days a week, including public holidays, giving customers more control over online shopping delivery arrangements and a more convenient online shopping delivery experience. Shrinking living spaces make small, frequent purchases a new daily consumption choice With changes in living space and lifestyles in Taiwan, consumers used to buy daily necessities for the next few months all at once during promotions and stockpile them at home; now, for consumers with limited living space who do not want to stockpile large quantities, "small amounts, more frequent purchases, and replenishing when needed" has gradually become another daily shopping choice. Delivery efficiency becomes key to immediate replenishment According to data from the Ministry of the Interior's Real Estate Information Platform, between 2014 and 2025, the average transaction area of residential properties across Taiwan shrank by more than one quarter, while Taipei City fell by nearly 30%; at the same time, housing prices continued to rise. As living space becomes more precious, "buying more and stockpiling more" may not suit all consumers. In response to consumers' "replenish when needed" shopping pattern, delivery speed and reliability have become even more important. Increasing investment in logistics infrastructure to create a small-purchase, fast-delivery experience Coupang has observed the shift in Taiwan's shopping trends. Through investment in logistics infrastructure, it provides customers with stable and fast delivery services, allowing them to place orders at any time even for small product needs, without worrying about space for stockpiling, and to reserve precious home space for living. Coupang WOW members enjoy early morning delivery: order by 9 p.m. for delivery as early as 7 a.m. the next day To further provide customers with a better shopping experience, Coupang also offers an "early morning delivery" service to Coupang WOW members in some areas. Coupang WOW members only need to purchase designated products before 9 p.m. to receive them as early as 7 a.m. the next day. For urgently needed items for the next day or children's last-minute needs, replenishment can also be completed early the next morning. Whether living in an apartment building or a detached house, customers can receive the products they need before the day begins according to their personal needs and delivery arrangements, making daily life more relaxed and convenient. From arrival date to return pickup: integrating four major flexible delivery options Coupang stated that truly convenient fast delivery must not only be fast, but also stable, predictable, and able to accommodate customers' different life arrangements. To eliminate the inconvenience of going out to collect packages, Coupang's various innovative services allow users to make good use of "home delivery" and enjoy four major flexible delivery options: 1. Flexible arrival date: "Rocket Delivery" items are set to arrive as early as the next day by default, and customers can also arrange a suitable arrival date within seven days according to their personal schedule. 2. Flexible delivery location: customers can set receiving methods for frequently used delivery addresses, such as specifying the guard booth, management office, front door, or another suitable receiving location. 3. Flexible return arrangement: returns are set to be collected at home the next day by default, and customers can also arrange a collection date within up to three days according to their personal schedule. 4. Early morning delivery: Coupang WOW members in eligible service areas, whose residential environment can properly accommodate packages without the customer needing to answer the door to collect them, can purchase designated products before 9 p.m. and receive them as early as 7 a.m. the next day. In addition to the convenience mentioned above, Coupang stated that it will continue to invest in Taiwan's logistics infrastructure, from warehousing and order fulfillment to last-mile delivery, continuously improving delivery speed, reliability, and service processes, so that "Rocket Delivery" is not only about fast arrival, but also a daily shopping service that can accommodate different lifestyles. It aims to give customers control over their time and create a more convenient delivery experience that is closer to daily life.

Airbnb vs Coupang: why Airbnb's 20.4% margin beats Coupang's 0.6% as a 2026 buy

Motley Fool columnist Robert Izquierdo picks Airbnb over Coupang as the better consumer stock to buy in 2026. Airbnb posted 2025 revenue of $12.3 billion, up 10.8%, with net income of $2.5 billion. Coupang's revenue reached $34.5 billion, up 14.1%, but net income was only $208 million. Coupang's growth has slowed since a November 2025 data breach. South Korea fined it over $400 million, and quarterly revenue growth fell from 18% in the third quarter of 2025 to 4% in the second quarter of 2026. Airbnb's second-quarter revenue rose 17% to $3.6 billion. It trades at a higher sales multiple (8.0x versus 0.7x).

Nebraska cattle producers gain new direct access to Korean market.

Nebraska cattle producers gain new direct access to Korean market. Coupang and Nebraska Beef partner on direct-sourcing initiative to create export pathway for U.S. beef. October 27, 2026 Coupang representatives meet with Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen as the company launches its first direct-sourcing program for U.S. beef exports to South Korea, the top market for U.S. meat exports. Nebraska cattle producers are expanding their international reach through a new direct-sourcing initiative with Coupang Inc., a U.S. technology and Fortune 150 retail company. Created in partnership with Omaha-based Nebraska Beef Ltd., the initiative marks Coupang's first direct-sourcing program for U.S. beef, creating an immediate export pathway for premium Nebraska beef to South Korea - the world's top market for U.S. meat exports. "Coupang is proud to launch our first direct-sourcing program for U.S. beef right here in Nebraska," said Coupang chief global affairs officer Robert Porter. "Nebraska ranchers produce world-class beef, and Coupang's direct-sourcing infrastructure makes it easy for local cattlemen to tap into high-demand international markets, unlock valuable new revenue streams and strengthen American agricultural trade on the global stage." Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen highlighted the state's reputation for producing some of the highest-quality beef in the world and the new opportunities this initiative creates for local cattle producers. "Nebraska is home to the finest beef in the world, produced by generations of ranchers and cattle producers who are committed to quality, innovation and stewardship," said Pillen. "This initiative opens new doors for Nebraska beef to reach consumers abroad, creating valuable market opportunities for our producers and strengthening an industry that is at the heart of our state's economy. When Nebraska producers have greater access to global customers, it means more growth, more investment and more opportunity for rural communities across our state." South Korea is currently the premier destination for U.S. red meat exports, valued at $2.2 billion in 2025, according to the U.S. Meat Export Federation. The country represents a rapidly growing market for U.S. beef, with the category's sales on Coupang climbing over 63% year to date in 2026. Coupang, which works with thousands of American businesses and brands to sell their goods overseas, generated more than $64 million in U.S. meat exports to South Korea in 2025 alone. Coupang's fulfillment and logistics network allows Nebraska beef to move efficiently to consumers in Asia. Once the meat arrives in South Korea, customer orders are delivered through Rocket Fresh, the country's leading grocer. This efficiency provides American producers the opportunity to offer high-value perishable agricultural goods, which are sensitive to transit times, to millions of customers. The initiative builds on ongoing collaboration between Coupang, Nebraska state representatives and key industry organizations, including the Nebraska Beef Council and Nebraska Cattlemen, which focuses on supporting Nebraska's livestock sector. Coupang's direct-sourcing model - which allows the company to purchase agricultural goods directly from the source - offers an efficient, direct bridge connecting U.S. producers straight to end consumers in Asia. This link allows American producers to capitalize on high international demand for specialized cuts - including LA-style ribs and grilling cuts such as oyster blade and chuck eye roll, which carry premium margins in Asian markets - maximizing the total value returned to American livestock operations. In 2025 alone, Coupang helped drive the export and sale of more than $5 billion in American goods and services across more than 190 countries and territories, helping thousands of U.S. small businesses, family enterprises and agricultural producers expand their reach globally. Coupang provides retail, restaurant delivery, video streaming and fintech services to customers around the world under brands that include Coupang, Eats, Play, Rocket Now and Farfetch. It operates in over 190 countries and territories globally. BEEF Magazine is the source for beef production, management and market news.
