Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation techniques is required.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality, follow hospital policies and procedures, and adhere to ethical corporate compliance and integrity guidelines is required.
  • The ability to select appropriate supplies based on patient size and the type of anesthesia being administered is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the anesthesiologist in the operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Prepare, monitor, and maintain delicate anesthesia equipment for the Anesthesia Department.
  • Set up intravenous lines for anesthesiologist needs using aseptic technique.
  • Stock anesthesia carts with medications and supplies.
  • Maintain off-site equipment and carts in ready status at all times.
  • Assist with safe patient transportation.
  • Order and maintain stock levels of supplies and agents for the Anesthesia Department.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Attend departmental and hospital meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
