  • Must currently be local to the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area because this is a multi-semester, on-site work experience.
  • Must be currently enrolled and working toward a bachelor's degree in a related program at an accredited college or university, or have equivalent experience.
  • Must have knowledge of analytical tools, reports, and dashboards.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future need for visa sponsorship.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in record keeping and other aspects of the job.
  • Must be organized, meticulous, and able to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must be able to establish working relationships with multiple departments and organizational levels.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
  • Must have excellent skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be available for first-shift daytime operations in Grand Prairie for at least 20 hours per week.
  • Must be able to read computer screens, electronic equipment screens, documents, reports, and engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to participate in in-person and remote conversations and hear production-floor safety warnings and alarms.
  • Must be able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information, and participate in communications.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, related office equipment, electronic identification cards, and some production tools such as hydraulic lifts as needed.
  • Must be able to carry and lift documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 pounds on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull small office furniture, equipment, and tools on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods during meetings and computer work.
  • Must be able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Must be able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Must be able to walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
  • Must be aware of potential compliance risks and committed to acting with integrity.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Health & Safety Manager in executing site activities.
  • Coordinate Safety programs, activities, events, and initiatives.
  • Assist with ad hoc analysis, site assessments, and drills.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, primarily concerning OSHA.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures.
  • Work safely and comply with applicable safety policies, company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist Safety with tracking, auditing, and monitoring the performance of Safety Management System implementation, and provide feedback.
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing Top Company Objectives and key internal performance parameters.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining an assurance dashboard for the Health & Safety program.
  • Support the Safety Department's day-to-day activities, including developing, presenting, and tracking safety training.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Safety bulletin boards across Airbus Helicopters North America facilities.
  • Assist the Health & Safety Manager with day-to-day management of the Safety Ambassador Program.
  • Use data analytics to track and report Health & Safety metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or another related program.
  • Occupational Health & Safety experience.
  • Hands-on risk mitigation experience.
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Tableau, Power BI, and Google Suite.

Airbus A350F freighter completes maiden flight with 4.3m cargo door for servers

Airbus has successfully completed the first flight of its A350F freighter, bringing the aerospace giant closer to delivering a high-capacity cargo aircraft. The plane took off from Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, flying for four hours and ten minutes and reaching 25,000 feet. The A350F can carry a payload of 109 tonnes, compared to 64 tonnes for the existing A330F. It features a 4.3-metre cargo door large enough to accommodate turbofan engines and high-density computer servers. Airbus claims the A350F is more efficient than Boeing's rival 777F, despite having slightly less capacity. The company has already received orders for 115 A350Fs. A second test aircraft is nearly complete as Airbus begins the certification process requiring hundreds of test flights.

Airbus and Qantas back $30M funding for Australian SAF developer Jet Zero

Jet Zero Australia has raised $30 million to advance Project Ulysses, a commercial-scale sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel refinery in Townsville. The funding round was backed by institutional investors including Qantas and Airbus, both returning investors from 2023. South Korean company Posco International joined as a new strategic investor, with the parties exploring opportunities in fuel offtake, infrastructure and feedstock. The capital will fund completion of Front-End Engineering Design and support the project's progress towards Final Investment Decision and construction. Founded in 2021 by Ed Mason, Jet Zero develops biofuels production capacity in regional Australia. The project has received its final Development Permit Decision Notice from Queensland's Office of the Coordinator-General. It is expected to create approximately 1,000 construction jobs and 100 permanent operational roles.

Airbus shelves stricter office return plan after Spanish union strikes

Airbus has postponed its plan to reduce remote working after strikes by Spanish unions, Reuters reports. The aerospace manufacturer will allow employees to continue working from home an average of two days per week, shelving indefinitely a push to limit remote work to one day. Chief Executive Guillaume Faury had sought to require white-collar staff on-site four days weekly by September, citing the need for knowledge transfer. Spanish unions said roughly 40% of Airbus's 14,000 Spanish employees have walked out over remote work policies, transport, leave and wages. An Airbus spokesperson said the company would implement the transition "more gradually" based on employee feedback. French unions estimate a quarter to a third of Airbus's workforce has been hired in the past three years. Aircraft production has not been affected by the disruptions.
